According to medical researchers all over the world as well as WHO the best way to manage the spread of the COVID-19 is a lock down meaning people should not move from one place to another just remain in your house except some few individuals know as essential workers like security personals, medical personals, journalist etc this is because the COVID-19 also known as Corona virus don't move but people move them.

Below are the following reasons the lockdown or stay at home won't work in Nigeria

1. NO POWER

In Nigeria there is no electricity to make you feel comfortable at home and have the comfort you have already put in place like for those that have Air condition install, another way passing out time at home is watching TV but no power to do that and as such you can't even charge your phone or PC.

2. NO MONEY

When there is no money at home one will like to go out and hustle, there are many Nigerians that depends on daily sales before they can put food on their table, recently a woman above 50 years old was seen on video looking for men to sleep with her for N500 so that she can feed her children to tell you how bad things has gotten.

3. ILLITERACY / IGNORANCE

This may not just be illiteracy as per say but high level of Ignorance where even a Graduate will tell you there is nothing like Corona virus that everything is a scam.

4. CORRUPTION

While the federal and state government are trying their best to stop the spread by closing borders some characters are there collecting bribe and passing people thereby sabotaging the efforts of the government.

SOLUTIONS

Honestly there is no solutions because none of the solution that will be mentioned will meet a hundred percent therefore I can't say with Authority that this is the solution but meanwhile let's see if we can achieve the following.

We need electricity to enable us power our appliances especially the fridge to store foods, watch TV while we stay at home.

Another ways of keeping Nigerians at home is their mobile phone, while some have found alternative of charging it, they need data to access the internet so I think negotiating with the network providers to give out free data during this period will help in the lockdown. In fact if there is any money to be given to PHCN in order not to collect bills for two months should be channel to provide data to Nigerians because there is no light.

Money meant for the poor should be supervised to make sure it gets to the poor.

There should be proper corona virus campaign as many are yet to believe it.

You want kill me with laugh and that is true, blacks are naturally stubborn and that is what is killing them in USA especially those that see themselves as poor and have nothing to loose.

You’re right but in The stay at home won’t work because the government is sharing money to people in their social registry. They’ve plans to share money to 10.3 million people out of over 200M, let’s assume the figure of 10million people is right and they truly share the 20k completely to all these people, what happens to the rest? I mean the rest should stay home in expectation of imaginary grain from the north and also rice and other food items from the customs stores lol which won’t eventually get to them. How can we be so naive? The ones advising the president are definitely inept, they believe it’s all about good Command of English without empathy.
