I pray for his quick recovery as human being but he should limit his power and authority to President kitchen staff. Let Buhari we voted rule us or resign if not capable.

If we're going to be dancing technically, the British do not elect a prime minister: they elect members of parliament; the party with the most members becomes the government; the governing party designates their leader (without direct input from the public) who, upon appointment to PM by the Queen, becomes head of government.

But the issue here, which some people are tying to avoid, is that lack of transparency and accountability that our government is so fond of. It causes unnecessary FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) that countries can ill afford. Entire ministries have to go through this man to get anything done, but because he is indisposed without any (public) updates of his status, does government work get impeded? Who is empowered to make his decisions? Are they in acting capacity, or will their decisions be rescinded once Kyari is able to return? Anyways, it's business as usual for an unserious government.

Thanks for this quote. You should know that sycophants such as the one you quoted usually don't understand smart and level-headed statements such as yours.

It is also possible he found a way to manufacture privacy rights for the president all the time he was away. Till date no one knows how much was spent on treatments, what was being treated, etc.

Abeg you are the one deceiving yourself. Momoh put it very well. Kyari is entitled to privacy.

If, out of all we are facing right now, Kyari's whereabouts is uppermost in your mind then you need to get a life. No insult intended.
hear yourself talk...what is personal about a public health issue.. isn't the NCDC concerned about whether or not he is spreading the disease wherever he is? how would the government know to collate their numbers if he is still an active case or he recovered. like the poster said, make dem dey deceive themselves

SO WHAT THIS MAN IS SAYING IS THAT GOVERNMENT SHOULD ALLOW ALL THE PATIENTS WHO HAVE TESTED POSITIVE TO GO HOME, TREAT THEMSELVES.

WE SHOULD LEAVE ALL OF THEM TO A HUGE CHANCE OF INFECTING OTHERS?

DO WE STILL HAVE ELDERS IN THIS COUNTRY

OR

DOES THE INFECTIOUS COVID 19 STARTS START ITS DAMAGE FROM BRAIN REGION

WHAT A COUNTRY - NO RESPONSIBLE LEADERS, NO RESPONSIBLE ELDERS, NO VISION, NO CLUES, OUR YOUTHS ARE FAST INFECTED WITH THE VIRUS OF CLUELESSNESS

This govt should learn from UK, Bori Johnson's health from the onset wasn't hidden. Citizens sent in their prayers and concerns. But here it's a personal something.

You guys develop some sense na for God sake !!! Na curse? Which victim of covid-19 have the government revealed their identity to you or details of their whereabout?

Momoh simply means Kyari has a right to privacy while he recovers from the disease just like anyone else.

My friend, call me any name you want and act like a lynch mob all you want. It is because you are a loser who has accepted he is a failure and will never amount to anything. I thoroughly dislike Kyari and the power he has been given unfairly, in a democratic setting, when he should ordinarily be a secretary. This is what is making Nigerians like you overstep your boundary.

But fair is fair in life. And this should apply to everyone at all times. The rich and successful do not deserve to be hounded unfairly simply because you abhor their status in a nation where many are poor. Kyari was rich and successful before he agreed to serve Buhari.Google is your friend. Also, being poor is no excuse to become an animal or savage disinterested in the fundamental human rights of others.

Because I am successful and plan to be even more successful in future, I believe in equity for all be it the poor or the rich. I can therefore never join the lynch mob behaviour of Nairalanders who are only acting this way because of the side of the fence they are on today.

Fact is that Kyari is entitled to privacy while he recovers after revealing his status and plan to recuperate in Lagos. That you cannot accept this fundamental right of Kyari just confirms all I have concluded about you.

Who is empowered to make his decisions? Are they in acting capacity, or will their decisions be rescinded once Kyari is able to return? Anyways, it's business as usual for an unserious government.

Look, the long and short of it is that Kyari is entitled to his privacy as a protocol related to the treatment of those who are ill and have acted responsibly after diagnosis.

No less than the health Minister of Nigeria, an authority on health matters, has told you this yet you guys continue crafting all manners of argument to excuse your intolerant need to intrude where you should not.

Boris Johnson may not be directly elected by Britons but he is the leader of the United Kingdom so he is directly answerable to the people. Same as Buhari would remain answerable to Nigerians regardless of the manner in which he emerged our leader as head of State, President or Prime Minister. This is simply pedantism taken to a derisory level.

Abba Kyari is appointed by Buhari and can be fired by the same man tomorrow. At no stage is Kyari answerable to Nigerians.

Kyari has voluntarily disclosed his covid-19 positive status and revealed he will be receiving treatment in lagos while hoping Nigerians will graciously give him and his family needed privacy in what will no doubt be difficult times for them.

Still Nigerians continue to just fabricate excuses to demand his whereabout while hiding the reason they remain this obstinately intrusive which is that many hate Kyari passionately and want him dead.

It is the announcement, either way, of his condition that this is about not any redundant bullshite about who is doing Kyari's job or the lie taxpayers money is funding his treatment.

Thia is a national and international crisis so worries about who is doing Kyari's job is redundant considering Kyari could be dead and Buhari can opt to carry on without appointing a replacement.

As per the taxpayer funding his treatment, Kyari, a rich and successful man before his current appointment, has already revealed he opted for private treatment so what other excuses do you Nigerians have for demanding to know where he is other than that you lot , because you have let hate for leaders cloud your judgement, remain ready to abuse the fundamental right of other while you shout the same be accorded to you?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.legit.ng/amp/1317655-coronavirus-doctors-give-updates-abba-kyaris-health-status.html

Kyari had gone into self-quarantine on March 23, after the diagnosis.

In a press statement on Monday, March 29, he said he chose private treatment in order not to become an additional burden on the country’s overstretched health system.
