Is the government making plans to rebuild and diversify Nigeria’s economy after Covid-19?

The US, Japan and other countries who were the hardest hit economically have started making plans to incentivize companies to bring back manufacturing home or go to other countries outside China.

What is Nigeria’s strategy moving forward? In my opinion, Nigeria should invest heavily in manufacturing by incentivizing private companies to setup manufacturing plants for all imported products and put people back to work after Covid-19. Focus should be placed on infrastructure development and security including electricity, access roads, and rebuilding our security network.

Ladies and gentlemen, do you think the current government is able to develop this sort of strategy for Nigeria moving forward, or is it going to be business as usual?

I doubt if Buhari has thought of such.

Even when he has all the resources to surround himself with the best advisers and strategists?

It's very possible to diversify wih agriculture, solid minerals and others.. Nigeria is blessed but some people don't want things to work for their own gain.

It's time to start building more factories and industries rather than churches and mosques. Our youths need jobs, employement and stable power supply to be productive

The post-Covid19 economy is not meant to provide jobs. That's why the global elites are already touting Universal Basic Income as a way of dealing with the mass unemployment that will arise. It's going to be a massive social challenge for poor economies like Nigeria.

We're not going back to Normal. In the words of Elon Musk - There will be fewer and fewer jobs that a robot cannot do better. Many small businesses will not be able to reopen. Many jobs will be lost permanently.

The pandemic is not about HEALTH. It's about CONTROL. It's about preparing the setting for the new global economic order. The pandemic is used to create the right level of fear and panic to cause you to surrender your civil liberties and freedom.

Serious conspiracy theory you laid out here. But while you think the worst, some countries like India are positioning themselves as new manufacturing hubs for the west though. Japan is offering its businesses millions of dollars to go outside China. Where will Africa be in the global scheme of things?

Diversification? That is overly optimistic. We'll go back to selling crude oil and being controlled by the ever fluctuating petroleum market.

Do you mean audio diversification ? I don't see any reasonable thing happening after this plague. Common stimulus package to assist the poor was hijacked
