gwarotango: It seems you clowns don't understand how trade works. You can't "cut off" supply of your crops and livestock because those that farm need to sell their produce to survive. You're not giving it to us on charity. You're selling your produce to make a living. Before Federal Government banned rice importation for example, importers were drowning this country in foreign rice and importers can entirely sustain this country with foreign rice if not for the Federal Government's bid to support local production. How wicked and hateful most northern leaders are towards the south, they would NEVER sell food to the south if they were no reaping 300 times more profit on the price of food they sell in Niger Republic or Chad than the exorbitant price they sell to southern nigerians. They sell their food produced through Federal Government agricultural interventions to the south and pocket the money. No questions asked! Nigerian beef is the most expensive beef in the world simply because Fulanis have almost exclusive control of the livestock market in the country and fix terrible prices for a slice of beef. Even their solid mineral- GOLD in Zamfara is secretly mined by individual Alhajis with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING paid into the federation account from Zamfara's gold mines! 5 Likes |

DanArrewa: I have never seen any tomatoes, yam, cucumber, carrot etc coming from Kaduna, kano or katsina.etc The only thing coming in their droves from those places are almajiris to do cobbler, nail cutting, shoe shinning, mai ruwa, mai shayi, mai guard, mai anything... The north is poor and cannot give them good margins, so they must take the goods elsewhere where it can be paid for. |

Gandollar: Your argument is pretty backwards. The majority of farming done by small holder farmers in nigeria. Everyone knows you sell excess not capacity. Most staple foods seem to be imported in high quantity and stuff like cassava grown in large amounts south aswell. Anyway I'll just do the research since nobody has specific Information on yeilds of certain crops. It's weird nobody bothers quantify their statements. |

The North is a parasite that feeds on the south. Only some places in the middle belt is there farming. If the south decides to focus exclusively on farming. we will blow them out of the water. That's not to say the north is not agriculturally inclined but it's only because they are not developed to do anything else but subsistence farming and they are still a parasite. They can't even rear cows without the South. |
