THERE IS AN URGENT NEED FOR A CORPORATE LEGAL COUNSEL / EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE GMD IN A RENOWNED ESTATE COMPANY. Job description for: Corporate Counsel/ Executive Assistant to the Group Managing Director Advise company concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations. Prepare and draft legal documents, such as agreements, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for business purposes. Analyze legal documents and all proposals for partnership. Ensuring that the company is in compliance with all laws governing the establishment of estates. Ensuring that the company is in full compliance with all statuary agencies. Represent company before its clients and government agencies. Interpret the Constitution, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances regarding real estate development and the land use act. Prepare briefs and opinions, and file documents in state and federal courts, land registries and with government agencies in respect to land and real estate development. Negotiate settlements with clients and land owners. Conduct legal search on properties for purchase or lease etc Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law To compile correspondence and reports on behalf of the CEO. To prepare, proof read and edit all outgoing correspondence e.g. letters, funding proposals, press releases, marketing materials and newsletters; To prepare the Chief Executive for all internal/external meetings i.e. researching organization/individuals, briefing on “synergy” and possible new joint working opportunities which might result from this meeting so as to maximize new business opportunities for company. To manage the Chief Executive’s workload, act as gatekeeper and follow up meetings, external contacts, ideas for new business etc; To ensure the general maintenance of reference material for bids/proposals To provide/research ground material/literature on various international development and housing matters. To provide regular updates on government policies and legislations in housing. To monitor tasks delegated by the Chief Executive to staff on new business opportunities to ensure that completed work is achieved to agreed deadlines; To work closely with the CEO to ensure that all projects and contracts are up to date and ensure relevant managers produce monthly management reports for the Chief Executive outlining progress on all projects; To create and manage the Chief Executive’s filing system in relation to new business opportunities, external contacts, etc. Arrange travel schedule and reservations for the MD as needed Receive and interact with incoming visitors Interact with external clients Would also receive all the incoming mail to the MD and sort it. Supervise staff in the executive office Maintaining the MD’s calendar and scheduling meetings accordingly. These are the qualities she should possess: 1. The person must be a female 2. She must be Energetic 3. Must be presentable 4. Must be single 5. Must be ready to travel on short notice 6. Must have a minimum of 3-5years at the Bar 7. Must be ready to work long hours 8. Must have an eye for details 9. Must not be more than 28-30yrs 10. Must be able to attend meetings on behalf of the MD 11. Must be able to provide administrative support to the MD 12. Must be able to achieve results 13. Preferably must be of the Northern origin but not necessarily. 14.
