[b] Nigeria wasn't ready for this pandemic, it's still not ready, and will never be ready. The citizens are not ready to stay indoors, everyone is always "going out to buy drugs when caught.
How dramatic Nigerians can be.
The Government Agencies on their parts are not trying their possibly best in line with our expectations.

NCDC, at first, reserved testing to only the elites and the returnees. I recall calling them on phone and their call center representative wasn't even helping issues at all, busy blabbing till she ended my call annoyingly.

At that point, I could imagine what majority of our brothers and sisters with symptoms related to COVID-19 are going through while reaching out to NCDC for help.
Imagine those who could barely sound so fluent putting a call to them, their expression could be tagged unserious cos they can't hit the points and they might not be attended to.

On the other hand, our uniform men and women have taken undue advantage of this lockdown in most parts of the country to either brutalize our citizens or extort money from them at checkpoints and allow them to pass, thereby making it cumbersome to curb the spread of this virus.

Owners of grocery stores, medicine shops, sachet water producers are not left out in this undue exploitation... Prices of good have skyrocketed, meanwhile the money is hard to find. And the Federal Government, with all the noise they're making on palliatives, they're yet to reach out to even a quarter of Nigerians who are vulnerable.

Are we going to continue like this?

I think each of the test kit can be use to test over 10 people. so multiply it.
25k X 10.

they were busy treating the VIP.
now that they are done with the VIP, almost the entire states are infected.
were will they start now ?

This is shameful to say the least. 8000 is less than 1% of the population. Very unserious government.

How can economically weaker and smaller African countries have more testing capacity than Nigeria? Why on earth do we joke with serious matter like this?

Just look at their plan May to September when other countries are massively testing so as to reopen their economy.

You hit the nail on head Bro.
Let everyone in every State get tested so as to know the level of the spread of this Covid-19, otherwise there may explosion of this disease. God forbid!.
•What is happening shows we are never ready for a Natural Disaster of this magnitude, but we ought to,afterall we don't have-earthquakes,hurricanes or Tornadoes as in other Countries and that is the fear of WHO.
•If Lagos is trying to cope on Testing her population to know the spread, are others States doing likewise?
What of those States that are not even care for the citizens,if and when they crawled to the States that are trying to walk-out of the deadly disease?
•Considering a huge population of 200Million,where do we go after the lockdowns? Is it business as usual?

Oga, US tests about 150,000 people daily.

This disease spreads quite fast. What's the essence of the lockdown if you ain't doing
rapid testing and isolation of infected persons ?

It's laughable that for 3 months and they have been able to test only 8,000 for a population of nearly
a million people

STILL EXTREMELY INSUFICIENTE FOR A COUNTRY OF OVER 200 MILLION PEOPLE. THAT IS WHY COVID-19 IS UNDER DIAGNOSED IN NIGERIA AND UNFORTUNATELY IT IS A TIME BOMB THAT WILL EXPLODE MASSIVELY.
NO IDIOT SHOULD CALL ME A PROPHET OF DOOM. I PREFER BEING REALISTIC INSTEAD OF BEING JUST OPTIMISTIC.

Ghana is not only leading in per capita testing, it is ranked among the top 20 countries in the world testing for coronavirs in terms of per capita and second only to africa in terms of abosute number

What it simply means is that, Ghana is one of the leading countries in the world embarking on massive testing for COVID-19 as far as country's population and rate of testing is concerned.and they can easily calculate the extent to when the lockdown when will last.

in fact , Ghana has taken more decisive and swifter action than many developed countries in the world did within a month of confirmed cases.

For instance, while it took the United States nearly two months after its first confirmed case to declare a national emergency, the government of Ghana banned all public gathering in Ghana just four days after the confirmation of case.

Ghana's nearly 70,000 tests within a month of its first confirmed case is higher than tests conducted by the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom within six weeks of their first official case.

Stop celebrating mediocrity.

Better than none indeed. It is one thing to be a pessimist and another thing to be a dumb optimist.

Nigeria is the giant of Africa in terms of resources and other factors. If other African countries like Kenya and Ghana are doing better than us, it calls for serious sober reflection and re-strategizing.

The slow testing capacity is a fuel and timebomb to the spreading of COVID-19 in Nigeria. How do you identify and quarantine carriers of the disease in good time with this capacity.

We need to hold our government accountable for the way our resources is being managed.

Make you seek Ghana’s help , collaborate with them to speed up the testing process, they understand the cultural settings better than the Chinese you imported.

8003 tested and we have almost 1000 cases. Which means in every 10000 person we will have at least 1000 infected person
Imagine they now decide to test everyone.. That's the 200million citizens.

You call this positive? With billions donated we can afford only 8000 tests in 2 months and you think this is something to be happy about? People are turning up in hospitals in critical conditions and are dead in few hours with a test confirming they are covid positive days later and you foolishly think its a positive thing? Who knows how many people they infected before falling sick?? If more tests are done like in other countries with lesser resources and population density do you think more lives would be saved? Or maybe your head should be used for rituals...atleast its still positive since someone would be richer. If you dont know what to say just keep shut please.

If we're want to win this fight against covid-19, we urgently need to carry out aggressive testing.. Unfortunately we have just done little testing when you compare to other African countries. Everyone in that taskforce are incompetent.. Nothing can be done rightly in Nigeria. NCDC boss and others should resign!!
