Religious Leaders In Kano Don't Believe In The Spread Of Covid-19 - NMA Chairman by cPapaAjascO: 11:37am On Apr 23, 2020
The Nigerian Medical Association chairman in Kano State, Dr Sanusi Bala, has likened the spread of novel pandemic in the state to ignorance and poor information, emphasizing that religious leaders dont believe that the virus exists in the state.

The NMA chairman says it was also alarming that the youth in Kano are not keeping or adhering to the social distance rules by playing football, which they tagged “Corona Tournament” in their various communities.

Mr Bala said there was the need to enforce the lockdown in the communities rather than focus on major roads and markets in the state.

And to him, people are only adhering with the lockdown as it concerns the major public areas and that the situation was not desame in the communities.

In his words Bala said that he thinks the means of communication (about the virus) matters because it is mostly done through social media and television; and that these are not the case in some of these areas.

The NMA chairman went further to say that some of the religious leaders do not really agree or believe in the spread of the novel Coronavirus and as such the information going round is different and also the presence of propaganda; so therefore many people are not complying because of misinformation.

That is the honest truth.

Some political leaders share the same sentiments too and it's all religion-based.

Allah gives and Alla takes is going to make this virus spell doom in most quarters.

License to get reckless I call it.

So the youths went ahead to organize a 'Corona football tournament' in their various communities rather than a Corona virus sensitization. No wonder they are doing so well in the real NCDC Corona virus diagnosis league table. I think rather than states to depend wholely on the federal government for basic interventions, they should mobilize their funds and big private sectors operating within the state to begin installation and upgrade of critical infrastructures, cos a state government is a level of government too. Subsequently when the federal government steps in, it will just enhance what they are doing. Its a shame that so many states prior to and up till now had no single molecular lab, which are even necessary for universities within such states offering courses in the biological and medical sciences for molecular research...The Nigerian situation is just tiring to discuss to be honest

Jihadists are doing everything to enforce islamization, unfortunately nairaland is a handy tool for them. I laugh when people say an atheist owns this forum.
muslims comment on Christian threads without oath, but when Christians want to comment on theirs we are forced to accept the evil oath.

Jihadists have failed. That's why "one nijeriya" is cursed and dead!

Don't worry. By this time in June, they will not only understand what coronavirus is, they will see it with their koro koro eyes. By the way, most of those people we refer to as Hausa in Kano are mostly from Niger Republic and we will be using our lean resources to cater for people from Niger Republic.

The earlier it is broken to them in their local language, the better it is before it gets out of hand.

These guys are seeking Islamic heaven. The sacked Kano commissioner said Abba Kyari was a Martyr because he died of the Corona virus pandemic. According to the Malam and other Islamic sources, if you are a Muslim and die in a pandemic like Covid-19, you automatically go to Islamic heaven.

Soldiers and police are meant for the South. Do you hear of police brutality in the North?
