It is no longer business as usual with growing frustration and uncertainty as to the level of the Covid-19 spread. Nigeria now has 1095 confirmed Covid-19 cases as of April 24, 2020 with Lagos as the epicentre of the disease followed by the Federal Capital Territory and Kano.

The geometric rise in new cases calls for stricter measures to combat the Covid-19 spread and flatten the curve. Hence, there is an urgent need to increase testing capacity for the virus and also mandate the use of face masks. While we ensure that the principle of social distancing does not end up as an oxymoron in Nigeria, enforcement, equitable distribution of palliatives and intensive regular sensitization must continue across all forms of communication outlets.

As we look forward to a decline in new cases in no distant time, let's all play our part in adhering to instructions from the government, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) & World Health Organization (WHO) while we await and adjust to the long-term economic, social, diplomatic & workplace consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Lol. Uk and USA haven’t gotten to their peak yet, Nigeria has not seen covid-19 yet. Day 50-60 are the days to be weary of. We’re not on total lockdown as people are still able to travel from one end of the country to another. It’s not even as if we’re doing mass testing.
