This book was inspired by the desire to bring back the interesting act of tales telling in many African homes where the amazing culture seems to have been lost or eroded by civilization.

A poetic tale from this storybook.

DRAGONS - A Tale of Their Existence and Breath

Once upon a time,
Our sky had two moons.
One named Uju,
The other named Ikenna.
Green like the earth,
They both had life.

Ikenna loved Uju,
But Uju loved the Sun.
Seeking the warmth of the Sun,
She journeyed down to it,
But never made it there.
Cos its heat scorched her,
And she hatched like an egg.

Then came a thousand dragons,
Surging from her core.
All touched with the curse of the sun,
And breathing its scary flame.

Seeking shelter, food, and landing,
They journeyed down to Ikenna,
Only to burn him with their curse,
Ending the life it once had,
Leaving it dusty, scorched and dry.

Then they sought a new home,
And journeyed down to Earth.
But none made it here alive
As they crashed into Earth's space.

Their remains are here as proof
That dragons once existed.
But if you think my tale is untrue,
Please take a glance at the moon
It's still dusty scorched and dry
From the dragons' breath of flames.

Well done. We should do whatever it takes to revive our good and inspiring African practices.

That's true.. I remember when my dad use to tell me lots of tales, civilization has indeed eroded the practice..
