Why Kogi Has No Reported Case Of COVID-19 by Gemid94(m): 10:42pm On Apr 28, 2020 |
Kogi State Government, Tuesday has revealed reasons for having no record of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state following the recent allegation by the Director General of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu stating that states which are yet to record cases of COVID-19 are either negligent in testing and tracing, or actively hiding, the disease within their territories. The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo while addressing the press in the State's capital, Lokoja rolled out reasons for the absence of the pandemic in the State. He said; "Lest anyone accuse us of ineptitude or riding on sheer luck, we wish to point out that in addition to everything else, Kogi State has had an excellent history of managing epidemics in the past. The excellent network we already had in place for managing Lassa Fever and other disease outbreaks long before COVID-19 appeared on the scene provided a framework upon which we founded our current structures for containing the virus." http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/why-kogi-has-no-reported-case-of-covid-19

Story. That's simply because they have not yet recorded any death. I still wonder how Kogi (with all the traffic of persons and vehicles on travelling connections) especially the Lokoja terminals, does not have a confirmed case yet. The clueless Gov lacks any idea on how to go about checking for cases and so he keeps telling us that the app will find the positive cases. NCDC should please help him before it becomes too late. I pray theirs does not surpass Kano. |

Obviously, negligence in testing and tracing or actively hiding, the disease within their territories. Kogi state with population of over 3million people, that's almost Impossible! The other state with no covid 19 case is Cross River state, with a population of over 3.7million. Both are not doing well in testing and tracing at all. |
