Imo Building Collapase: Death Toll Rises To 15 by Udefiobinna: 7:54pm On May 01, 2020
News agency of Nigeria(NAN) has recently report about death toll in the building that collapse in Owerri along Yar'Adua Drive
The latest figure was given by Mr Evans Ugoh, head of Imo/Abia stae operation office of the NAN.
He spoke in an interview with a NAN coressponden today in owerri as rescue effort continue a site of the building collapse.
On April 30, an eight storey building under construction, collapsed, killing two persons while eight others were rescued and rushed to hospital.
Five dead body were found in the building on friday by rescue operation, searching for victims while he eight people taken to hospital were later confirmed dead, bringing the total casualty figure to 15.
Despite the incident, owerri capital development authority, Mr Innocent Ikpamezie, has blamed the collapes on poor engineering work.
He said that many contractors were in he habit of violating building guidelines, which according to him, often results to building collapes.
