Tajudeen Okunnu and Sesan Lawrence with the help of the people living in ikate surulere put their resources together so they could donate food items to their vulnerable women.The lock down has depleted all their money and without the avenue to do their daily business it has been hard to feed their families.Last week Saturday they cooked for their community and this Saturday that just passed, they all came together at the oduduwa residence of the late major okunnu to give out raw food items, water and recharge cards.The idea is our women are the bedrock of the family and anything given to them will be used to feed their family.I hope this story will motivate other communities to help each other in this hard time,I hope people that have will be a little kinder to their neighbours who are having a hard time to feed their loved ones.A tree can never make a forest but with unity all is possible.

The Unilag pure water was given at a discounted price and it was paid with money they all donated. As of today a bag of pure water is 200naira.Food items like beans even recharge cards were given.They are not corporate bodies or government but people trying to help their fellow neighbours dont lose the message.A little goes a long way and dont forget it is better than drinking well water.They are also trying to do what they can every Saturday until the curfew and restrictions are fully lifted.If you can help then reach out but pls dont judge we need to be united.

While you are correct, you can only give out what you have.I dont know why we always have to tribalize everything in this country.Hungers knows no tribe or religion.Poor is poor,middle class is middle and the rich are rich regardless of their tribe. To bust your bubble igbos, even some hausa people, christians and muslims were there. They were all prayerful. A woman said she was fasting and did not have anything to break with.She said so Allah is truly merciful.Just do your part and leave the rest for God.What happened to the Nigeria of yesterday where people of this land were cheerful givers.
