This is not just in Kano state alone, most hospitals are afraid of getting their staffs infected and you don't blame them. The federal government needs to declare a state of emergency in the medical sector and instruct the NCDC to organize and train private Medical doctors and nurses on how to kit up properly to protect themselves from exposure to coronavirus before handling any new patients.

The qualified private hospitals should be named, they should have a dedicated area to receive any sick person to conduct tests before referring to the case to NCDC when the result is positive or continue their treatment if negative. The government should also assist those qualified hospitals with the recommended PPE if possible.

My father died on 23rd April in kano state as a result of this. All he needed was some drips. He was alive when he came but after rejection from three hospitals including navy hospital, he eventually gave up the ghost. Such a sad situation. Lost a very good man

Poloyanabo1:
You can't blame the hospitals, the government should distribute the testing kits to both private hospitals or make it mandatory for private hospitals to acquire test kits...
With that all incoming patients can be tested before being admitted to checkmate the spread of the virus.

The hospitals' fear and reason for their actions is understandable.

Think what the private hospitals need are PPEs Personal Protective Equipment so that they are in a position to handle every patient as if they were a case of Covid-19.

My condolences dear. This is the situation that concerned ones have dreaded. We are at war. In war not all casualties die by bullet, many by hunger, diseases, heart failure, fear etc.

That is why I cry that our testing capacity should be expanded to tame the continuous spread of this virus since we are told our economy cannot sustain a prolonged lockdown.

Only few things are as painfully as watching a love one pass away over perhaps a manageable health challenge. My deep condolences sad

What about the Chinese Doctors they imported from China. where are they.?.
Boss Mustapha should send them to Kano state now. Haba.!!
if u think those Chinese were imported to treat you and me, then u need to think again. The doctors are reserved to treat Buhari and his cabal in case they catch the virus
