A few days ago, the thread on the Buhari administration approving the Steve Oronsanye recommendation was on the front page. I remember everybody hailing Pres. Goodluck for having insight etc.

Now that the effect of that commitee is made obvious, the people are calling Buhari names! Truth is mergers will always result in redundancy and eventually job loss.

This NLC are freaking alarmist. While we don't pray for jobs to be lost, the reality on ground is saying another thing. Our main means of earning foreign exchange is oil and it's selling lesser than the cost of production; this means we are selling at a loss. The money made when we sold barrel of oil more than we benchmarked has been looted during Jonathan's era; so we had no cushion at the moment. The FG needs to reposition it's workforce in a way that they will be productive. Most of the federal and state workers are just a drain on the system, earning salary with zero output.

So of all the points I listed, it was only the one i mentioned python dance you chose to respond to and deliberately turned a blind eye on the rest.

I rest my case on you.

Have a nice day.
No, you decided to pay attention to my reply on Python dance and ignored others because that's your main pain.

Yes, we brought the First Republic to an end. We also aborted the Second Republic. When we want to move, we move, no noise, no chest beating, we take action and get down on it.
We are saying the same thing let it start from western Nigeria because charity begins at home cool cool

[quote author=Officialgarri post=89205994]False alarm!!!!

Ministry of power was merged with works and housing, tell us how many staff lost their jobs?

If we indeed want this administration to keep cutting cost of running the Government, then we should be ready to accept to pay One minster instead of paying various ministers for similar roles

[/quote
.....so what will happen to the staff of the agencies that they are going to scrap.

This mass layoff is inevitable given the trend with oil and gas sales. We refused to take diversification serious and this is the end product.

If you really want cost of governance saved then you should start from the government officials with retinue of assistants, senate etc.

You're 100% on point.
This is the only solution to Nigeria's problem.
And they shouldn't just recolonize us, they should rule us forever

The nigerian civil service as currently constituted it NOT efficient. There would be mergers and job cuts. That is what is needed.

So he can put guns to the heads of senators to support the motion to slash their own salary?

The 8th assembly he tried to influence, what was the outcome? Did y'all not support the senate to impeach the President?

Introducing python dance into this discussion is just to prove where your anger is coming from. It's pointless.

You are the same set of people who have been screaming for decades about government expense, and now that someone is gradually fixing it, you are blaming him for doing the people's bidding
