OPEN NIGERIAN SCHOOLS BUT FACE THE RISKS- SIMEON SUNDAY FOWOWE LAMENTS

@VONNEWS

The president of (ANPEIN )have in his statement yesterday said that there have been silent and open agitation from the concerned parents and educators to reopen Nigeria schools.

Teacher Fowowe said the parent, who is in agitation for schools to reopen is doing so to ensure that their wards complete the Second Term Examination and also commence the Third Term activities immediately while a few wants both electronic and physical learning to Kick start.

He further stated that whichever method the parents wishes or prefer, the teachers are the major facilitators of this method of learning.

Therefore there is a call on the government both in the state and federal level including the private school administrators who are in charge of reopening schools to weigh not only the health of their students but also that of the teachers who also is at a high risk of getting infected by the pandemic troubling the world.

Sunday Fowowe, in this measure charges furiously at the educational administrators who chose to proceed with reopening of schools to cooperate closely with health agencies in enacting policies to keep teachers, as well as student safe and healthy. The improved life and prospect of the children and teachers through high quality research should be a priority during and post covid_19.

The president went further to narrate how he watched a live online called zoom meeting organised by CPE (Concerned Parent and Educators) initiative yesterday, Sunday The 3rd of May 2020, between 5 -7pm where five Commissioners of Education from the five South west state ( Lagos, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun and Ogun) were invited as guest speakers. He lauds them for their brilliant presentation and efforts.

The President of ANPEIN, hailed the state government and their representatives as well as noted something that cut across their presentation, that is, the negligence of their represented State Colleges of Education and Universities in fighting this pandemic. And also was wondering why the teachers who are the facilitators was not considered in the teachers training institution during this highly needed man power dispensation

Finally, Teacher Fowowe appreciates the government for spending hugely on the accreditation and recruitment of lecturers and is also pleased to involve them whenever it comes to pedagogical training and other related matters. He implores the State government via the commissioners of education to look into this matter earnestly.
