Ex World Champion Joshua Daniel Cries Out For Help by LOVEGINO(m): 5:54pm On May 07, 2020
A member of the all-conquering Golden Eaglets that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea 2007, Joshua Daniel, is presently languishing at the 44 Military Hospital, Kaduna, following the spinal cord injury he sustained in a road accident on his way to answer a call to national duty in December, 2007. Bugged down by huge cost of treatment, the ex-international has cried out for financial assistance from President Goodluck Jonathan, his state government, Kaduna, and-well meaning Nigerians to help offset his mounting medical expenses.
Joshua, alongside his mates and the technical crew, became national heroes 14 years after Nigeria first won the trophy in Japan and were honoured by former President Olusegun Obasanjo with a Member of the Order of Niger (MON) as a reward for winning the U-17 World Cup. from his hospital bed, Joshua expressed his disappointment over the way he has been treated by his state Kaduna, chieftains of the National Sports Commission (NSC),the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the nation at large after serving the country meritoriously before the career was brought to an abrupt end and in a tragic manner.

In an emotion laden voice, Joshua narrated to Blueprint Sport how his present predicament started: ?I was invited to the national U-20 team camp by Coach Ladan Bosso in December, 2007. We are to resume camping on December 17, 2007, in Abuja. I was on my way to the camp on December 15 when the accident happened on Sarki Power highwayin Niger state.
