Reno Omokri has called the former presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili am agent for APC as she condemns the Governor of Rivers State for demolishing hotels.

He said "Ever the hypocrite, Oby Ezekwesili is attacking Gov Wike for demolishing houses in Rivers. How come she was quiet when Elrufai demolishedhouses of political opponents in Kaduna? Is it because Elrufai family have her ‘beggar with receipt’?"

"Ezekwesili is an agent. They have her ‘beggar with receipt’. They use her to sabotage the opposition. Yinka Ayefele’s radio station was destroyed. She was mute."

" Elrufai destroyed homes of political opponents. She was quiet. But she attacks Wike!"

Very lame reaction from Reno. Is he saying because Oby did not criticise El-Rufai, then she has no right to criticise Wike. Tagging her an APC Rat is just plain blackmail and a heavy discredit to Reno's stance. He is trying to sway partizan emotions to cover up a total disregard for the truth and what is right or wrong.

Wike was totally wrong and every sane person should call him out for the wrong he did.

I ain't a fan of the Bbog woman but i sometimes wonder how this idiot reasons undecided.

El rufai who destroyed sani's house nd the governor of kwara who demolished saraki's house both did it citing civil planning nd ownership litigations respectively. Wether true or not thats another story.

Wike's own na because person no obey lockdown order... completely different things.

The right to property is enshrined in the constitution.
The right to a fair hearing is also constitutional
There is no justification to remove that right without going through the court and no governor has the right to remove that right without a court order whether for planning violations or quarantine violations. It makes no difference. The point is the executive does not have such authority but it happens so often we have come to accept it as normal.

I do not necessarily agree with Omokri but your argument that they are "different things ' is wrong.

They all involved removal of the right to property and the right to a fair hearing before a court.

The circumstances may be different but the difference is no more relevant than saying they are different because one happened in the rainy season and the other during Harmattan. That is not a material difference.
The issues are expedited loss of property by a governor without due process I.e. a court order.
Even if the law prescribes a punishment it is the job of the court to pronounce that punishment. Errors can be made in conviction and that is why we have appeals .Demolition is irreversible and should not be hurried.
