It bears with it significant and far reaching displacements. The move must be countered from outside as well. Attempts to oppose it from within will fail because it will accelerate the collapse and energise minority groups to rise up against the sovereingty.

The counter voice has to be one whose face, name and access in the international arena is well known and commands broad credibility to influence opinions of world leaders. Nigeria has few such leaders it can call to speak for its interest. Prof. Ibrahim Gambari is one of them.

His mission as Chief of Staff will be foreign policy, and not political as it was in the tenure of Late Abba Kyari.
