Yahaya Bello Govt Releases Test Results Of 111 Persons In Kogi by Emedu(m): 8:35am On May 13, 2020 |
The Kogi State government, on Tuesday, disclosed that the 111 people who were tested for coronavirus ( COVID-19) in the State returned negative. Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the State Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja, the State’s capital. According to Fanwo, the tests were conducted on the persons without the supervision of officials from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). He noted that the testing kits procured by the State were used to conduct the tests and that those tested were picked randomly. “Kogi State got testing kits independently and followed NCDC guidelines,” the Commissioner said. “111 COVID-19 rapid tests were conducted in Kogi State yesterday (Monday), and all results came out negative,” he added. Fanwo also said that the State remained COVID-19-free. He added: “We shall not go to streets to pick people to be tested for COVID-19, but hospitals where people with similar symptoms are found and also based on any information of suspected cases.” https://dailypost.ng/2020/05/13/covid-19-yahaya-bello-govt-releases-test-results-of-111-persons-in-kogi/ 1 Like

If yahaya bello insists that his state doesn't need the assistance of NCDC, he should be left alone to handle his state as he deems best. I also sincerely pray the state doesn't have any case of the virus. But, if it's later discovered that they've had cases and he's been covering it up, they should remain in their state and tackle it o. Make dem no con hide for trucks, run dey enter other states o. 1 Like |

ghettokid1:How Because all the test came out negative What's NCDC doing to those escaping the isolation centres Have they attended to the minute population with their acclaimed virus What about those escaping from Kano to other state, those with the infectious disease, have they received all the attention needed before looking for another one to take on They are just jack of all trades, master of none!!! |

Why is Yahya Bello playing hanky panky? The tests were conducted without NCDC supervision abi? People picked at random for the test, is that the way its done? What about people reported to be showing signs of covid-19 in state hospitals, why were those people not tested. No one is saying there must be covid-19 in Kogi State, our prayers are they shouldn't be any, but atleast let proper test be done and let's all be sure. 1 Like |

Are they saying that for the past 2-3 months , people in the state have not been showing symptoms similar to that of Covid 19? Have these people not bin going to private and public hospitals for treatment? Why they did not pick from these people with these seemingly "malaria" symptoms and subject them to the test? You will just go and select randomly from just one locality say (lokoja or ankpa ) and you will come and tell us that all the results returned negative. What if there's no actual case of the virus in dat locality yet but there may be cases in other localities which are not not included in your sampling.? |
