Ed once witnessed the beating of a dog when he was going on a visit to his Sunday school teacher , this Ed said turned him on

Ed Geins Mother after Ed's mother died he gave into a lifestyle of utter dirtiness as his whole building and room was completely a mess as he would leave food overnight going days without washing or cleaning , he was diagnosed with sczhophenia from an early age but tried to help himself by coping with the Bible and doctrines of the holy spirit he says frequently talks with him

Gein was caught when his last victim a worker and when he never came to work the next day a co-worker told the police Ed was the last to see him as they saw Ed go with him the previous day making him the last person to see him , Ed was arrested immidiatly, and subsequently got his house searched , What the cops found was according to county Sheriff's plainfield department 'it was the most horrific grotesque crime scence in the whole of American history the following pictures were found in his house they called the house of horror .

During one of his interrogations officer jones Green could not but lash out blows on Ed smacking his head continuously on the wall, leaving Ed blodied on the ground , Jones would later die of a heart attack few days later mostly to his inability to cope with such horror , such evil in one Man.

Gein died at the Mendota Mental Health Institute due to respiratory failure secondary to lung cancer on July 26, 1984, at the age of 77.[12][13] Over the years, souvenir seekers chipped pieces from his gravestone at the Plainfield Cemetery, until the stone itself was stolen in 2000. It was recovered in June 2001, near Seattle, and was placed in storage at the Waushara County Sheriff's Department. He was no serial killer. He did not even understand what he was being accused and charged for but he did like the publicity he was getting. The Police department took good care of him when he was in their custody and the Sherrif department even provided him with a TV when he was in jail during the trial. He was the center of a media circus and he loved it.

Gein was never charged with murder but rather grave robbing which may or not be true.

When police raided suspected murderer Ed Gein’s house in Plainfield, Wisconsin, in November 1957, they found a chair upholstered in human skin, a skull used as a soup bowl, a belt decorated with carved-off nipples and a table propped up by human shinbones, among other things. The ghoulish “memorabilia” was discovered to be from at least two murdered women and dozens of exhumed bodies, which Gein obtained during up to 40 nocturnal visits to local graveyards.

After being diagnosed with schizophrenia and pronounced insane, Gein was committed to a mental hospital. But after 10 years, he was declared fit to stand trial, which he did in November 1968. He was found “not guilty by reason of insanity” and sentenced to life imprisonment in psychiatric institutions.

While at the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Wisconsin, where he would spend the rest of his life, Gein had most of the medical staff praise his amiable disposition and cooperative nature. And surprisingly for such a gruesome killer, he had an unblemished incarceration record.

According to Harold Schechter, who wrote Deviant, a biography on Gein, the murderer was a perfect patient: blissful, calm, never requiring tranquilizers to keep under control—and he got along really well with other patients.

As per the emotional trip they feel ,it also differs
Some feel guilt ( the lipstick killer used lipstick to write ''stop me before I kill again please'
Some feel a rush (Bundy was interviewed said he gets a rush breathing in the very last breath of his victims made him feel alive .)
