Abuja developed really fast. Anybody who grew up there will tell you 1995-2005 was the best time to live in Abuja. All of those kids know themselves till this day and 80% of them have all left the country. Most were born in the 80s. Abuja then was quiet, fun, secured, no traffic and mostly inhabited by the wealthy, politicians, military, diplomats, business men and upper middle class civil servants. You can drop a needle and you will hear it, that's how quiet it was. 95-1999 felt like military barrack in a good way; you will see military trucks every 10 mins passing. They were friendly and never molesting civilians.

The new Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (MFCT), Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai, has assumed duties as early as 7.30am yesterday with a pledge to clean Abuja city as one of his priorities and called for co-operation and support of all staff of the ministry.
