Every Nigerian is Responsible for the Rots in our Country

The situation in Nigeria is so despicable but we are all guilty for the rots, as surprising as it may sound, it is the truth, even though not obvious to many Nigerians.
Change comes with a price which is never more than adaptation, only the people that adapts to a change enjoys the benefits that comes with it while those that refuse to adapt suffers from it consequence.
When Falz sang “this is Nigeria and everybody is a criminal”. We experienced many outcries especially from religious bodies; even MURIC threatened to sue him. But people failed to see that he didn’t exclude himself and his father who is a legal luminary. This shows that we are all guilty for the rots in Nigeria and are all culpable for the corruption in Nigeria. If Nigeria must change for better, Nigerians must change first, for in bettering our lives we better our country, because change start within and never without.
It is “only a fool that does things the same way and expects different results”. If we must witness change then we must do things differently.
Take for instance the lecturer who insists on sex from a young girl and some cash from a young boy before they can pass his course complains about the rot in Nigeria. As if he is not a Nigerian and not part of our problems, because in the situation where he was the government he failed the country and in failing the country he failed himself and his family and so lacks the right to complain about societal rot because he is part of the society and duly contribute is fair share to the rot.
The man who pays his driver ₦20,000 while he gives his child ₦100,000 for up keep complains about the rot and hopelessness of Nigeria.
The trader, who removes 4 bowls of rice from the bag, re-bags and sells as a full bag is complaining about the wickedness in Nigeria as if he is any different.
The civil servant who comes to work once in a week or even once in a month, then shows up at the end of the month to pick his salary is complaining of politicians who do nothing as if he is better than any of them.
The student who party’s all week and block his courses then end up not able to defend himself complains that Nigeria is stealing his dream ignoring the fact he is part of his problem.
The doctors in public hospitals on government payroll abandons their patients to thrive in their private hospitals complains that politicians are corrupt as if they are any better.
The driver, who can’t join simple queue but darts in and out of traffic or event take another’s lane, complains of disorderliness in the country.
The man or woman who drinks water and throw the sachets on the road is complaining that the country is dirty as if he is not contributing to the dirt in the country.
Until we realize that Nigerians cannot be better than Nigerians then we are heading nowhere. Because the value of Nigeria is the average of our own individual values. We are either architects or parts of Nigeria’s problems and the earlier we stop fooling ourselves the better for us and our country.

Too late to hope for a better country.

The hatred encouraged by the federal government has started to spread among ordinary people and take a firm hold.

Perhaps the next generation of Nigerians can live as one if sincere effort at ensuring justice for all within the country happens.
