It's simply some fungi abi bacteria activity. It's happened in many Rivers before.

Thank God for science.
Am sure these are things that happened in the past and they dogmatically linked it to spiritual happening that up till today people have insisted they were spiritual.
Bring any of those "mysterious" incidences to this modern day, science will effortlessly unravel and explain it.

There is nothing superstitious about this. It's caused either by algae bloom or chemical waste but most likely the former.
