Thats the official name of Taiwan. Republic of China is the official name of Taiwan while People's Republic of China is the official name of China

Doesn't HongKong belong to China?
Britain returned a country they took forcefully is it not within their right to unify their country.
Same thing with Taiwan, it has always been part of China, they primarily became occupied by the side who lost during their civil war, does their unification also make them terrible?

China may be a terrible country. Let's follow your assertion a bit. What would you say of Britain's refusal to let Scotland, Ireland and Wales leave the United kingdom? How about Spain's refusal to let Catalonia become an independent country? How about Nigeria's refusal to let Biafrans go? There are lots of people agitating for self rule in the world.
