Hello Ladies and gentlemen It another math Brainstorm/challenge time #600 credit is to giving out Solve this simple questions only 1. An urn contains 4 white 6 black and 8 red balls . If 3 balls are drawn one by one without replacement, find the probability of getting all white balls. A) 5/204 B) 1/204 C) 13/204 D) No answer Solve get-- #200 2. 24x^2+25x−47/ax−2 =−8x−3−(53/ax--2) is true for all values of x≠2/a where a is a constant. What is the value of a? 1. The probability of drawing a white ball first = 4/18 = 2/9 When the first white ball is drawn, the total ball left is 17 while 3 of it is white. The PR of the second drawn ball is 3/17 While the third drawn white is 2/16 =1/8 since the ball is not replaced. Hence, the required probability = 2/9 x 3/17 x 1/8= 1/204 = B 1 Like 1 Share |

Eyinjuoluwanimi: No.2 Answer multiply (−8x−3) and (ax−2) using FOIL. 24x2+25x−47=−8ax2−3ax+16x+6−53 Then, reduce on the right side of the equation 24x2+25x−47=−8ax2−3ax+16x−47 Since the coefficients of the x2-term have to be equal on both sides of the equation, −8a=24, or a=−3. so answer is -3 1 Like |

No.3 answer log 5=b using the base change rule log 5= log 5/ log 8 log 8 can be solved: log 8=x 4 =8 2 =2 2x=3 x=3/2 Therefore we can write: log 5= log 5/(3/2)=b log 5=(3/2)b [1] To make log 5 into log 10 we can use the product rule: log 2+ log 5=log (2x5)= log 10 So by adding log 2 on both sides of equation [1] we can write log 2+ log 5= log 2+ ( 3/2)b log 10= log 2+ ( 3/2)b But log 2 can be solved: log 2=x 4 =2 2 =2 2x=1 x=1/2 Therefore we can conclude that log 10=1/2+ ( 3/2)b log 10=(1+3b)/2 |

1) Let A, B, C be the events of getting a white
ball in first, second and third draw
respectively, then
Required probability = PA∩B∩C
= PA PBA PCA∩B
Now, P(A) = Probability of drawing a white
ball in first draw = 4/18 = 2/9
When a white ball is drawn in the first draw
there are 17 balls left in the urn, out of which 3
are white
∴PBA=317
Since the ball drawn is not replaced, therefore
after drawing a white ball in the second draw
there are 16 balls left in the urn, out of which 2
are white.
∴PCA∩B =216=18
Hence the required probability
= 29×317×18=1204... |

2) 24x2+ 25x − 47 divided by ax − 2 is equal
to
−8x −3 with remainder −53, it is true that
(−8x − 3)(ax − 2) − 53 = 24x2 + 25x −47. (This
can be seen by multiplying each side of the given
equation by
ax − 2). This can be rewritten as −8ax2+
16x − 3ax = 24x2+ 25x − 47.
Since
the coefficients of the x2
-term have to be equal on both sides of the
equation,
−8a = 24, or a = −3.
the answer is -3 |

l3) log 5=b
using the base change rule
log 5= log 5/ log 8
log 8 can be solved:
log 8=x
4 =8
2 =2
2x=3
x=3/2
Therefore we can write:
log 5= log 5/(3/2)=b
log 5=(3/2)b [1]
To make log 5 into log 10 we can use the product rule:
log 2+ log 5=log (2x5)= log 10
So by adding log 2 on both sides of equation [1] we can
write
log 2+ log 5= log 2+ ( 3/2)b
log 10= log 2+ ( 3/2)b
But log 2 can be solved:
log 2=x
4 =2
2 =2
2x=1
x=1/2
Therefore we can conclude that
log 10=1/2+ ( 3/2)b
log 10=(1+3b)/2 |
