What if the seller is a fraudster and doesnt deliver? That is why it is in the interest of bolanle to pay via middletrust
No, Middletrust is offering safety to both parties and making the seller more trustworthy.
Middletrust is a registered escrow company with our information published on the Corporate Affairs Commission and FIRS database and they have made a business that revolves around protecting people's money. If they protect a cash belonging to a hundred thousand Nigerians everyday, this generates steady revenue for them as a business, because they charge you a fee for any payment made through their platform.

OgogoroFreak:
If bolanle can pay to middletrust, why can't she pay the seller directly? So middletrust is only changing the sellers policy of no refunds? Why didn't the seller change that himself? Also, why would the seller even trust middletrust?

A comparism was make with the escrow aspect of Fivver and not the E-commerce.
Middletrust is a Fintech company(Financial technology) not an Ecommerce company.
Our credibility, comes from the fact that middletrust is a registered company with CAC and on FIRS database. Already carried out transactions and have reviews on trustpilot(an independent review platform)
odizeey:

You don't know what Fiverr is that's why your are comparing to middle trust.

Are you guys an ecom biz? Where is your credibility?

Registering on CAC is not much of a credibility.

Who have you done business with. What are your clients saying? Not fake clients o.

Who has endorsed this business? Any celeb or notable person.

Don't take this as an insult. It's an advice.

Bolanle would still feel the same about middletrust being fraud. Most sellers are also registered with their information published on the corporate affairs commission and FIRS database.

Sounds like a good arrangement, but how trustworthy is middletrust itself?

He raises a dispute for the transaction and middletrust would step in to resolve it in accordance with what was stated in the agreement when the transaction was created

Honestly, until Middletrust becomes a household name, people will dispute the credibility. So for now customers should do whatever it takes to verify the authenticity of the companies they come in contact with. Google is always available. A 5 minutes thorough check will give you an idea if a company is who they claim to be or not.

There is nothing bad in Payondelivery.

As a matter of fact, trust is all you need.

Now, the fact that one customer disappointed does not mean other customers will.

This is Nigeria by the way and, I myself will prefer to examine the products first before parting with my cash.
