Google is making a necessary update to its Google Shopping platform by letting any business owner and admins that sell products online can add their inventory for free. Normally, e-commerce store owners would need to pay for ad placement on Google Shopping.

But Google now says it will now let anyone who manages a website or handles a store on a marketplace platform add products without paying. Google still plans to charge businesses for top placement as promoted listings.

This update will help the sellers to integrate with the customers in a better way, as has been claimed by Google. The update will be visible in the US at first and then will expand worldwide as the year unfolds.

Existing users can add their full inventories in the event they were only paying to promote some products on the platform. New customers can now apply to add listings for free through Google’s Merchant Center.

As part of the update, Google also integrating with PayPal to help bring more sellers onto the platform easier and faster by letting them connecting their existing accounts for accepting online payments.

Google is also working with some e-commerce inventory management businesses like Shopify to make sure the companies that handle mostly through their own websites can quickly shift to selling on Google Shopping.
