20/05/2020 TASK FORCE ON COVID-19 IMO

The Imo state task force on covid-19 says it will not allow entry of any corpse from outside the state for burial more especially the states like Kano, Lagos and Abuja.

The Chairman of the task force Professor Maurice Iwu stated this in Owerri while interacting with twenty-seven local chairmen, the leaders of National Union of Road Transport Workers and Executives of the markets association.

Professor Iwu urged the chairmen of the council to activate local security system in their locality to keep surveillance at the borders connecting other states.

The ALGON chairman and chairman of Oru West local government arae Chief Willie Okoliegwo appealed to the state government to equip them with more test kits to enable them carry out their sensitization.

Ikeaka said they will adhere strictly to instructions given them by the task force.

Correspondent reports that the council chairmen and leaders of road transports workers as well as markets association were handed over thousands of face masks to fight the virus.
