The worst thing that can happen to a man is not knowing his history, which is a branch of knowledge that studies the past and assessment of notable events.

For those that feel Jeff Bezos is the richest man ever in the world, I am here with a shocker that he's not.

As reported by the Western media, Jezz Bezos' peak net worth was $155 billion in 2019, but their is an African man who was richer than him, making him the richest ever in history.

The African man is Emperor Mansa Musa 1 of Mali, who had a net worth of $400 billion.

He ruled from 1312-1337 and made his wealth from gold and salt.

Taking us back to history for more insights, Mansa Musa conquered 24 cities in present day Mali and Mauritania.

He made Mali the world's largest producer of gold.

Due to the kind of wealth he had, he spent $1.5 billion (200kg of gold) to make Mali a centre of academic excellence by building Sankore University 700 years ago.

This University had the capacity to contain 25,000 students, and had around 1 million manuscripts in its library, one of the largest in the world then.

Emperor Mansa Musa of Mali during his reign, traveled to Mecca for Hajj with an entourage of 60,000 men.

He took his whole court, his officials, solders, heralds, jesters, merchants, camel riders and 12,000 servants, dressed in quality Persian silk, clad in golden brocade & carrying golden staffs and anytime he embarked on any pilgrimage, he crashed the economies of Egypt and that of Middle East because of his extravagant spending.

He was so rich that he was giving out gold on their journey & countries economies were effected because of how much gold was fluctuating.

Because of his flamboyant lifestyle, Europeans traveled to Timbuktu his country home, hoping to see a city built with gold only to see a city built with mud.

Foreign textbooks portrayed the Richest Man in History, Emperor Mansa Musa 1 of Mali and parts of Mauritania as a white person, but he was obviously black.

This definitely means that for years, black people have been deprived knowledge about their legends and prominent people.

After his death at the age of 57, his descendants squandered his $400 billion fortune within a twinkle of an eye.

His grandson particularly couldn't protect the territory he left behind, he was defeated by countless of western attacks with the help of other African nations and most of his gold reserves were lost as well.

The Portuguese equally invaded the Malian Empire in the 15th century and looted the remnants.

Read this thread on Twitter & I was so in awe. From the abundance of natural resources he cultivated to the growth and development of communities that he left behind, Musa has a legend that could give the fictional Black Panther a run for his money. As far as wealth goes, it is nearly impossible to quantify the riches that Musa had during his lifetime.

To sum it all, failure of African leaders to develop golden infrastructures despite humongous wealth did not start today. All gold looted for personal use. The Europeans came to see a city built with gold because if they were the one with such resources they would have built cities with gold but alas they met city built with mud. That tells of impoverished masses. Lastly, the so called university must be nothing but a glorified koranic school built also with mud.

AFRICANS ARE A CLUELESS PEOPLE WITH A CLUELESS SQUAD OF SQUANDERERS CALLED LEADERS. AS SEEN IN THE MARLIAN, THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN INDIVIDUAL WEALTH THROUGH CORRUPT MEANS AND NOT AFTER SOCIETAL GROWTH OR DEVELOPMENT

Mansa musa was wealthy but please top comparing the wealth of a ruler with a business individual, nobody rates the wealth of the Saudi king or other royals in the Arab world that much because theirs is also similar to mansa musa type of wealth, that is the amassing of collective wealth to a single individual or group, the wealth being portrayed as mansa musa wealth belongs to the area or country he was ruling then, the kings of those days had exclusive control over it then.

Mansa Musa's display of opulence on his famous pilgrimage to Mecca is what woke up the West to Africa's vast resources.

Then came slavery and colonization and the rest they say us history. Today, the Chinese and other Western powers are all over Africa still mining its resources.

Mansa Musa brought evil to Africa. If he was not so much of a showman, perhaps the West would have left us alone and we would better off.
