The Elegushi Royal Family regret to announce the death of Chief Muritala Adedoyin Elegushi, who until his death was the Alaawę of Ikate Kingdom.

He died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Tuesday, 26th May 2020. He was 74years old.

Chief Muritala Elegushi will be remembered for his deep knowledge of the history of Ikate-Elegushi, Eti-Osa and Lagos State, which helped in correcting many distortions and facilitated the resolution of many disputes.
