Indeed. The US lost an F-22 Raptor and an F-35 JSF this past week alone if I'm not mistaken. Accidents involving military equipment is very common.

PS. Both from Eglin Airforce base, Florida. Still investigating. Now these two airframes are the most sophisticated in the history of battle aircraft and the cost of those two planes will buy at least a squadron of those Russian choppers.

By crippling the energy market which is the biggest cash cow for Russia coupled with other economic sanction, Russia is left with just enough rubbles to maintain and service her arsenal. But to procure new ones are hard. That's why you see them selling weapons to anyone that cares to buy. America recently destroyed a plane worth $2bn instead of selling it to anyone else. Russia no go try that this time.
