Hunger virus has done far worse than Corona virus tell them

The streets are quiet, full of tears gushing out like Montenegro tree fountain. Echoing in my ear only is the grumbling and sadness of my little puppy. Ooh Africa! Ooh The world! Ooh the surface of the earth! How helpless is the land flowing with Milk and Honey!

With Song of Joy and hope we embraced year 2020 not knowing the deadly Coronavirus is waiting to devour our land. The saints were busy praying but our leaders were boasting of unavailable resources saying they are prepared for the outbreak even when we can hear, see and feel the weeping of Powerful Nations. The Virus finally break out, and fear reigns in every heart because the virus regard not calibre, races and background.

They asked us to stay at home, promised us palliative (of which 60% is not getting to the street), and enforced measures to curtail the spread (they instructed us to avoid social gathering, wash our hands often with soap, sneeze at our elbow or piece of disposal cloth, wear face mask, use hand gloves and hand sanitizer), yet, only the rich can afford it due to inflation.

They pay no attention to hunger virus that kills millions of people per day, they find no vaccine to the hunger virus that has ravage many souls. Widows, Orphans and Aged with no hope prefers death to life while NCDC keeps dropping amazing figures and messages to hungry souls. It is surprising that our government that boast of readiness against the outbreak put not into consideration hunger and consequences therein.

Oh my Helpless Nation! Where is your right to life when your citizen keeps taking their life as the day passes by?

They announced and modifies lockdown when the poor doesn't have hope for tomorrow, when average of the population feeds on daily income, when the academic calender of our tomorrow leaders has been disrupted, when our health sectors lack adequate facilities, when they didn't even have one direction or hope for vaccine, but what's their concern since hunger virus is not affecting the rich, since they consume complete square meal per day, since Europe is the only place they can provide adequate care for their headache, since their children future is not influenced by education but they won't see to that, rather they prefer to lock us indoor and get killed of hunger virus just for them to make some money of the pandemic. God is not asleep my Nation!

What more can we point at, millions that are homeless, billions that are jobless, numerous living in extreme poverty, thousands dying daily of hunger and starvation, Uncountable death due to some poverty related diseases or countless graduate who passionately serve their homeland but the only reward for their trust in education and service to homeland are unemployment, poverty, stress walking streets to streets, town to towns in search of a green pasture.

Those that suppose to be a hero by upholding the truth and raise an alarm against injustice forget the poor when they have the opportunity to sit with the eminent just for few thousands, judges who has the power to prosecute them sold out the oath of Justice to Injustice, they manipulate laws and orders to support their false claims just because there is a breathing billions of naira in their account, the say we cover our eye to justice, but they wink their eye and embrace injustice when they received huge alert of money. How long will Injustice Prevail on our Land!

The tragedy that befalls this innocent land calls for awakening. Is this how some African will die of imported virus even when some don’t know the route to airport? They neglect the knowledge of Dietitian in assembly and distribution of palliative, they have recently forgotten we can't just eat any food during this period but foods that will boost immunity and improve our general well being to fight the imported virus, but little or no recognition is attributed to the concerned expert (Dietitian -Nutritionist).

Our patients with coronavirus in different isolation centers were feasting on junks and snacks and they call it treatment. What is the role of food experts as part of the medical team! What a mismanagement!

In all four corners of our Nation dwells fear and confusion, Staying at home is Hunger virus, roaming on the street is Coronavirus.

The firewood of this country is for only those who can take heart that's why not all can gather it (Kofi Awoonor).

Nigerians are tired! They need to cater for families, They deserves good, nutritious and nourishing meal, they deserves fresh fruits and vegetables, They deserves early morning sunlight for their skin and bones, they want to shed some pounds. Deprivation of Nutrients kills faster than Virus.
