A lady has been able to access/ inherit her dead husband's estate after serving close to 8 years for murdering him. Its a new twist in the case that has spanned an appeal, a quashed retrial and now a further appeal. Challen (65)had been married to her husband for 31 years and was reported to have suffered his multiple serial infidelities amidst coercive control. She was initially given a life sentence in 2011 for murder , then changed to manslaughter on account of diminished responsibilities given her mental health. She became a free woman on appeal and has only recently won the right to inherit her husband's estate as there was no will in place. What do you all think.. . |

hmm! The wife should inherit her husband's properties, because they never divorced before the Husband's demise. And since her husband never left any will behind, the wife should inherit his properties, without any dispute. 1 Like |

LEGALLY there is something called the FORFEITURE RULE where you cannot inherit/benefit any way whatsoever from someone you killed...so i dont know where this happened but it must be in a charade book or some 3rd world lawless country. ILLEGALLY: you can just hire someone to give her a piece of her medicine when she gets out of jail so that she will never enjoy the fruit of the deceased labor. |
