A day turned into years,
I longed and I waited,
For you to yield,
For it to be fated.

I sat tight,
Longer than I should,
I thought I was obsessive and right,
I thought in my fantasy it could,
But it was always a might.

I thought I might choke from it,
It was painful,
Yes it was.
They said it is hopeful,
So, I imagined a beautiful cause.
I expected joy in full,
But what I got was hurt.

I looked into the mirror and all I could see,
A girl with a facade,
With a heart screaming like a banshee,
Trying to twinkle in her darkness,
Genuine wasn't the point,
Smiling was the goal.

They thought I was fine,
I thought it would go with time,
I thought, 'one day it'll all be bright,'
I was wrong.

How can love hurt this much?
The stories I heard weren't hurt,
They were alluring tales,
Fairytales with happy endings,
Folklores with a 'happily ever after.'

I was wrong,
I've been wrong; my thoughts and all.
Love is not a fantasy of tale,
It didn't always end in a 'happily ever after' as well.

It is the most beautiful feeling ever,
With the right person of course.
You feel appealing in and out,
It's like riding on stars.
Loving the wrong person is conflict and war,
But loving the right person is harmonious and peaceful.

I didn't feel pretty,
Neither did I feel like I was on stars.
My brain was at war with my heart,
I wanted to change me.
Was this love?
It didn't feel like it.
