A woman in Emaondo village, Kakamega County, on Monday burnt down her house after her husband brought home a new wife.
The woman’s husband – Samuel Indeche, 25 – is said to have shown up in the company of another woman whom he introduced as his new wife.
However, as soon as they left, his first wife torched their house before later fleeing and is presently being sought by police.
Mr. Indeche and his one-year-old son were reportedly forced to spend the night out in the cold.
Mr. Indeche’s parents, Francis Indeche and Paulina Amwayi, have since told Citizen Digital that – according to tradition – he and his child will spend three nights under a tree before they are allowed entry into any other house.
