A chocolate cake is a cake flavoured with melted chocolate and cocoa butter, chocolate cakes can serve as great and delicious desserts, they can also include other ingredients like vanilla, fudge and other sweeteners.



Chocolate cake dates back to 1754, but since then it has seen major improvement as it is no longer seen as a luxury but as an affordable commodity that can not only be made industrially but also homemade.

Since chocolate cakes are now an inexpensive daily snack, there are different ways of making it which varies from places and people.

I would love to introduce you to one of the cheapest and quickest ways of preparing a chocolate cake at home especially during this period of lockdown.

You would need three ingredients to make this moist soft cake;

1. Oreo cookies; 1 big packet makes 8 servings.



2. Warm milk; one glass.



3. Baking powder; 1 tsp.



The steps involved are as follows;

Step 1: Seperate the cookies from the cream fillings and place them in different bowls.

Step 2: Grind the Oreo cookies to powder using a blender until the granules become completely fine.

Step 3: Add a teaspoon of baking powder into the bowl of grounded cookies as it will give rise to the cake.

Step 4: Mix a glass of warm milk to the mixture and mix properly, if you notice any lumps in the batter re-blend it using an immersion blender as the cake's texture depends on the smoothness of the batter.

Step 5: Line a baking pan with greased parchment paper and pour in the mixture or alternatively grease a baking pan and pour in the mixture.

Step 6: Put the pan inside a pre-heated oven of 170 degree Celsius or 340 degree Fahrenheit and bake for 15 minutes or alternatively place a pot on a stove or cooker, place in a wire gauze, place the baking pan on it and let it bake for 30 minutes.

Step 7: Let it cool for 3 minutes and prepare the frost by mixing the cream filling with Nutella or frosting the cake with just Nutella.
