Redmi 9 Series Leaks: 3 New Models, Mediatek Chips As Standard Speculated by Ellizsandra(f): 9:39am On Jun 02, 2020
The Redmi 9 series this year will have three new models with varying specifications. All models will come to India and other global markets.
Xiaomi is currently focused on launching its laptops series in India but once that happens, it is going to return to its staple business, i.e. launching smartphones. The new launches will be happening under the Redmi series and if you take a look at the recent leaks, it seems that the Redmi 9 series could be next on Xiaomi’s platter. What’s even better is that this year, there are three new models coming under this series.
A tipster going by the name of Sudhanshu Ambhore, who has been coming up with several reliable leaks in the past, has shared an entire specifications sheet of the Redmi 9 series and there are lots of surprises. This year, there are three models, with the newest addition being the Redmi 9C, accompanied by the usual Redmi 9A and Redmi 9. The entire lineup has gone for MediaTek chipsets and some key upgrades.
Starting with the base Redmi 9A, this is supposed to be Xiaomi’s entry-level smartphone for this year. The Redmi 9A gets a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with 720p resolution. Instead of a Qualcomm chip, Xiaomi is using a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset that is accompanied by a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The phone will be powered by a 5000mAh battery and will get a USB-C port. For the cameras, there will be a single camera setup with a 13-megapixel unit at the back and a 5-megapixel camera at the front.

for me this is a mediocre chipset coming from Xiaomi. Very disappointing, if it was tecno or infinix that produced this shit, Xiaomi marketers won't let nairalander to rest. Let us see how they defend this crap

The Helio G25 and G35 have yet to be announced, so we'll have to wait for release to judge their performance. Going by history, the Redmi 8 at launch was 43k for 4/64 which was around $130. The new Redmi 9 series will aim for that price range maybe 50k-ish with the Helio G70 SoC.

We'll get performance metrics when the device launches. Before then, don't play the fool.

PS: The Helio G70 performs similar to the SD665 which is an upgrade from the SD439 in the Redmi 8.

The Redmi 9A and C will probably slot around SD636 performance. This is all a speculation, not fact.

The Helio G25 and G35 are yet to be announced, stop creating thread to make it look like infinix and tecno are doing Nigerians a favor.

We're yet to know if the 2 lower devices would come with those chips
