So Sarrki, is the disparity not obviously clear to you? Does Nigeria only belongs to a region?

One must ask, because it seems other regions are sleeping while the North just keeps going and going!

So since 1982 it has been a Northern affair, except when the government is undecided on which Northerner to occupy the position, then the most senior who happen to be a Southerner is allowed to act for a few months until a suitable junior Northerner is found to take over in full capacity?

The Nigerian customs should have only a few Northeners as officers who should even be grateful that they were employed into a service whose operations are largely located at the Southern shores.

At end of the current tenure of Hameed Ali, no Northerner must be appointed to head the Customs for the next 50yrs.

It seems Southerners are sleeping.

We had southern President from 1999 to 2007 and from 2010 to 2015. So, why did southern president refused to appoint a substantive controller general of custom from the south?

We had our chances and blew it. We should not cry that others are maximizing their time.

Shhh guys lemme tell y'all the truth on a low-key.
The Northerners have arranged themselves in a strategic way that once the head of any FG parastatal is going out, the next in line would be another core Northerner.

Very true.

But remember that some have already positioned themselves in the order of succession, such that only them would be due for such leadership with many years of service still remaining.

It would take decades to restructure the Northern Customs Service back to Nigerian Customs Service it ought to be.

The Foolish President Jonathan even retired the Police leadership inclusive of DIG Ivy Okoronkwo, who was next in line and set to become the first female police IG, so that AIG MD Abubakar could become the Inspector General of police ahead of the many DIGs that were above him.

Or do we talk about how the then newly appointed Festus Odimegwu, former CEO of Nigerian Breweries, was removed from his role in the Nigerian Population Commission, because he foolishly mis-spoke about the previous false population census that has always favoured the North. He was removed at the insistence of Gov Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, who marched to Aso Rock and insisted Jonathan must sack Odimegwu or else he would leave PDP and ensure the mighty votes from Kano do not go to Jonathan.

Jonathan capitulated and removed Festus Odimegwu to please the North and Kwankwaso, yet Kwankwaso still departed PDP with some other PDP Governors and Senators, and ensured Jonathan did not get the mighty Kano votes he so much desired.

Who has Buhari ever removed from position to please the South?

So the South is indeed foolish.

.

If Jonathan or Obasanjo wanted a southerner as controller general of customs, they would have appointed one easily irrespective of the order of succession.

Obasanjo rubbished FRSC order of succession by appointing Chidoka as the Corp Marshall. Chidoka was PA to Ojo Madueke, his father in law before the appointment.

Buhari appointed Hameed Ali, a retired army colonel as head of custom without giving a fvck about the existing order of succession in the service. So you see, the previous southern presidents just don’t care. They could have done it if they wanted.

To you it is about maximizing their time even if a president appoints his brother, sister, nephew, cousin, his tribes men and women and his regional people not about unifying and giving a sense of belonging to every citizen or competence.

Also I am quite sure that those Southern presidents you mentioned who appointed northerners when they were in power are not OK in your eyes.
To you they should have been tribalistic in their appointments or in your own words 'maximizing their time'.

I know too well that this your nonsensical EXCUSE is to make Nigerians forget about how PMB has been majorly appointing his own people into the affairs of this country and that they should excuse it as PMB 'maximizing his time'.

By and large, maybe Southern presidents would need to follow your saying BECAUSE a precedent has been set FIRST by PMB so as to let those like you where ever they come from(north or south) who support PMB style of appointments to know that there are consequences for tribalism and that what is good for the monkey is also good for the Ape.
