Elon Reeve Musk, the founder, CEO and chief engineer/designer of SpaceX; CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc. was born in Pretoria South Africa in 1971.

He left South Africa at age 17 to Canada, from Canada to the United States. He is a citizen of South Africa, Canada and the United States of America. You can only contest for presidency in your country of birth. The country you are eligible to contest for president is your origin, other citizenships you acquire are naturalisation.

He became a citizen of the United States where he currently resides only in 2002. He never renounced his South African citizenship. He still identifies himself as a South African in many interviews.

With a networth of $36.5 billion as at May 2020, I make bold to say that he is the 31st-richest person in the world, the richest South African and the richest African. Aliko Dangote with a networth of $9 billion as at May 2020 is the richest black person -within and without- Africa. We are proud of them both.
