Firstly, I must confess that myself along with many of my fellow Niger Deltans and other Nigerians are inveterate cowards or selfish opportunists. The important thing is accepting this realization.. oil in our land, democracy for 20 years and supposedly a free market economy, with nothing to show for it.

I mean Mali with a Farmer-herder (fulani with dogon) crises a fraction of ours and jihadist violence nowhere as costly as Boko or Iswap are out in Bamako demanding Pres Keita's reaignation. Those ppl have been Muslim for centuries more than we have, some of their traders (wangara etc) played a major role in bringing it to Yorubaland, Kebbi etc and are major theorists of the religion in Africa. Yet still very well aware of rhetoric and reality.....

Nnpc with their ethnic politics over economics stance is a failing firm. Equity oil of over 1.5 m bbl a day with revenues of at least 30 billion usd a year have nothing to show for it. No refinery in Lagos (largest consumption center) yet there is one in Kaduna that is keyed to use heavy oil from Basra Iraq and the Urals (u can check this). None of the others are working at any reasonable rate.

The company doesn't live up to its JV commitments, financially and operationally, as exposed by several IOCs. Despite being the majority stake holder and ofc custodian of the oil..... known to have skewed weird or at the very least questionably opaque hiring policies, keeping fresh good talent out... Has ppl 'lifting' oil as tho nnpc couldnt negotiate witn actual shipowners or shldnt even have had a fleet by now? Hahaha.

Exploring for the existence of hydrocarbon deposits, not commercial oil reserves, in the lake chad for regional chest beating. Not economically driven. Because a four decades long search for oil cannot be classified as R and D under any commercial firm.. it would have been written off and shelved well back in the 90s.

Then this? A hospital in Katsina Lol. How many barrels again from there..... akwa Ibom 550k a day, delta 350 to 400 k a day, rivers 350 ish, bayelsa 300, ondo 60, and others with smaller amounts.. the offshore of delta rivers bayelsa and akwa ibom produce another almost 600k a day. Katsina is the home of the president simple.. and it is more annoying because there exists a hostility towards the N.Delta that is made known during any small price drop... when govt still relies on it for its earnings....katsina is Nigeria yes but like the transport uni, there is no logical explanation as to what strategic reasons brought about its choosing.

In fact there exists one last myth to break: that bunari is seeing lesser revenues than ever.... check reports on opec member earnings.. Nigeria is the highest. Buhari's govt has seen earnings of between 45 to 55 billion usd every year since he came in. Compared to GEJ it is lesser. But that's because the 2011-14 boom was unprecedented. Buhari has seen more koney than Obasanjo ever saw. Just for pointers.. even if u sold all the cocoa in the world it will amount to nothing more than 7 billion usd. All the nickel in the world 20 billion usd ... so Buhari is a lucky man... the fact is that he is too proud and ethnic minded to see anything he or his cronies are doing as bad... it is always a blame game and self pity parade.

The greatest govt in Islam after the Prophet's life existed with the Rashidun Caliphate... the most successful was Umar bin al Khattab because of his foresight and particularly noted adversion to NEPOTISM. The empire grew to include the richest lands of Egypt, Mesopotamia and fabulous Iranic cities. What happened after him with family leadership was emphasized?? Please check ur history books.. history repeats itself.
