not all secular songs are bad, some hip hop and RnB have meaningful lyrics that either motivate you or make you feel better about a situation\circumstance or whatever

so as a "Christian" you can choose to listen to secular music so long as it doesn't have vulgar or indirect meanings: #OPINION

The so called secular or Hip Hop you're about to listen to, what is the essence of their messages?

1. We've seen my artists singing song indirectly to praise Satan

2. Artists singing song to corrupt young girls and boys mind for immorality.

3. Many artists sing song to address the hidden manipulation going on in the society.

4. Some artists sing song to promote injustice and show off evil fame.

5. While some sing song that promote the usual love that should exist BTW husband and wife or their songs directly support the affair of husband and wife.

Whatever you listen to that does not edify your spirit man is a sin. Secular music is filled with profanities that seem to gratify the flesh when you take a closer look at their lyrics.

If there is no change in the kind of music we listen to, books we read or what kind of movies we watch after new birth, then there is a question mark to our salvation experience.

yes brother, music was the only thing that was not created here on Earth. It was created in heaven for only one purpose (which is to glorify God only) anything apart from that shouldn't be hard. There's power in music. Have a wonderful Sunday

I used to love secular music so much that it was difficult for me to let go. But I did, I just let go and dive into the things of God. Then I got to a point where I can't sing if it is not about glorify God. I got so addicted to worshipping God and just loving him. As a result I can't sing or listen to a song if it is not about worshipping and loving God. The scripture says we should do all things to glorify God, and I believe that is the normal Christian life. A healthy Christian can't do anything if it is not about glorifying God. I know it would be difficult for you to let go of these things now, but it gets easier, and one day you will be totally transformed into a healthy or normal Christian life.

It not a sin against God for you to listen to secular song.

Might be a sin against some Christain's ear.

And some songs might be offensive to you.

Just like it's not a sin to drink alcohol but you are cautioned not to be drunk, you can listen to secular songs the caution should be don't listen to ones that sponsor Immorality.

It's not wrong to read novels or watch videos that are not "gospel" but it's not helpful for you to wat h pornography or read romantic novels. Ok?

Is dancing bad? No but it's not profitable to twerk if you are keeping pure. You go to work na bit you can't do all jobs that's secular.

Be of good cheer my friend, for God does not hate hip hop, Rap, R&B, Blues, Rock, HardRock, Swing, Jazz Afro, or music of any kind out there. Whatever the genre, as long as it does not cause you to commit sin, you are free to listen to it as much as you like.
If it causes you to sin, you know what to do.

If God does not say it is sin, do not listen to the rules and traditions of men who try to make them sin for you, because those rules are abhorred by God.

You either listen or you see! They both come into you

Do not believe anyone of the doctrines and traditions of men that only seek to make laws where God has made none for His people.

All the traditions and rules of men do is render your worship of God void... they nullify the power of God, essentially rendering your service of Him meaningless.

There are two things wrong with secular music ( correct you spelling by the way)

1. The message . Circular music are mostly corrupt . And what you listen to affects you .
2. Inspiration. Many of them are inspired by the enemy and demons. The spiritual impact is damaging .

But that's why we have different Christian music cutting across different genres. Rock, jazz etc. E no do you?

But I am able to listen to Rick Ross, and I do not struggle with masturbation, what then do I blame Rick Ross's music for? Why is his music to blame for your issue but not to blame in my case? Don't you see here that the music has absolutely nothing to do with your issue as it seems to stem from you and you alone and not the world around you even?

Remember what Jesus taught of these things: He made it clear that where temptation is concerned, it is not the tempter i.e. Rick Ross's music at fault. The fault and blame lie with the one who is tempted - that is the one who needs to change.

As for the one struggling with masturbation, what did Jesus say about struggling with the temptation to do anything? He didn't say to demonize the music. The same applies here...

Music is music... No matter what label you like to put on any kind of music, it is still music. No matter what kind of music a Christian, or anyone listens, be it hip hop or listens to Rap or R & B, or Hard Rock, or Gospel, or Blue Grass, or Jungle... What Jesus Christ said about the source of temptation and the way to deal with it remains the same....

Don't blame the music because the disease that is sin starts in the mind of the one listening to the music, not in the music itself.
