Is possible the test kit gave a false positive like the first negative it gave.
He might be negative afterall.
Those test kits are unreliable.

Not exactly. The fact that one tested negative on Tuesday does not guarantee that if you got infected on the evening of that same Tuesday and you get tested the following day your result will return negative - it must be positive. Anyone can be infected anytime, day or night or evening shortly after running a test. That is why it is called contagion.
