Nigerian Senator, Ali Ndume, has proposed for salary cut of civil servants who are no longer working due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Ndume who acts as the Senate Chairman Committee on Army proposed the suggestion while speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday in Maiduguri, Borno State.

While noting the effects of COVID-19 on the economy, he suggested for slashing of salaries and giving out palliatives for civil servants not working so as to enable the various government levels to manage its resources at hand.
