Any newspaper article to back this claim?

It was common knowledge at the time. It wasnt just Bola Tinubu. Wole Soyinka, Dele Momodu and Bola Tinubu were at the forefront of the struggle for June 12th. But when Abacha cracked down on them, all 3 men picked up their running shoes and sprinted to London. Years later when Abacha suddenly died, thats when Tinubu and Soyinka returned. Dele Momodu decided to stay back in London and start Ovation Magazine

Yorubas that never ran away but faced their fears

Victor Banjo refused to runaway

Mko Abiola was even given the choice of Exile

Awolowo even defended himself in court before being sentenced to ten years in prison

Obasanjo when Muritala was killed

Wole Soyinka was jailed and beaten by Obj and Gowon for supporting Biafra

Agami Eda Aka Fela even refused to runway when his mother was thrown from four storey building

Kudirat Abiola who was told several times to.escape.

And the list goes on

Can igbo give me the names of four people that stood against of for anything till the end?

I don't care about the rest of your ramblings, but this Soyinka supporting Biafra lies must stop.

Soyinka a typical Afonja rather than tell Gowon to take his invading army out of Biafra and let us be, sneaked himself into Biafra in attempt to convince Achebe and Biafra to surrender our freedom to Gowon invading force.

Ofcourse, his treacherous advice was turned down, and on his way back to Nigeria from Biafra, Soyinka was caught by the Nigeria soldiers and was accused of trying to sabotage Nigeria war efforts by Nigeria.

He was never fighting for Biafra.

Every time you will see people here who say that Ojukwu ran away from war like a coward. I have come to believe that most of the people who say this are Yorubas. So I want to use this opportunity to remind Yorubas that while you say that Ojukwu ran away, your own leaders did the same. Here are three well known Yoruba leaders who ran out of Nigeria when they felt threatened.

Brigadier Ogundipe:- He was Chief of General Staff to General Ironsi and second in command in the administration. He became the highest ranking officer of the Nigerian Army when Ironsi was murdered. He should have been sworn in as next head of state. But he jumped into a ship and ran away to Cotonou, from where he made his way to London

Olusegun Obasanjo:- During the second coup of 1966, Major Obasanjo promptly abandoned his command, jumped into the booth of a car and was smuggled to Maiduguri from where he crossed the border and ran out of the country. He did not return until the dust settled

Bola Tinubu:- In the mid 1990's as General Abacha cracked down on pro-June 12th agitators, Bola Tinubu suddenly disappeared into thin air and resurfaced in London. He did not return to Nigeria until Abacha died to aspire to become Lagos State Governor.

Don't even answer them. All they know how to do is open their mouth and spew foolishness and also beg. They are talkers not doers.

The Igbos are the only ones not just to stand up to Nigeria but to stand up to the entire Arab world, British common wealth and Soviet Union. We are proud of Ojukwu and proud of what they stood for.

Not just him, Nzeogwu, achuzia, uchendu, Onwuatuegwu, Kalu, Nsudoh. These are heroes. Daalu So.

Yeah, when Yoruba leaders run away, it is understandable. When Igbos run away, it cowardly. The worst is that Ogundipe, Obasanjo and Tinubu ran away without a fight while Ojukwu had a three year fight under his belt before running away

Yorubas are documented warriors who had one of the greatest Empires in the world that lasted for more than 500 years and expanded to Dahomey and up to Ewe in Ghana.

Igbos were colonised by a small Igala tribe and another small tribe,Ijaw took them as slaves.
Igbos are lilly livered, wrapper tying documented cowards.

If it were not for the Yoruba and South south warriors in the Biafra army,if it were only Igbo,it wouldn't have lasted more than a week because they will all run away.
Ojuku is not the only coward in Igboland.
The truth is...

Osu, Wole Soyinka fought against the military and even went to jail for the sake of your hunger-ridden kwashiorkor-ed Biafran ancestors. What was that old coward bastard Achebe doing while Soyinka was fighting Babangida and Abacha?

But the same Wole Soyinka abandoned "Radio Kudirat" and ran away to London when the heat was too much

He fought against Military and "ran away" like most of the NADECO activists "when the heat was too much." What was the tribalistic Biafran coward Achebe doing?

OP you forgot the greatest of them all.

Awolowo.

When he was caught for planning a coup for a second time, exposed to IBB by his fellow Yorubas, Jakande in particular.
IBB gave Awolowo three options.

1. Go to life jail for treason.
2. Get killed in a firing squad
3. Go on exile.

Awolowo left all the above and took the coward way out. He took Otapiapia and ran away from life to avoid going to jail again for same offence he went to jail for in 1960s.

Awolowo was a coward who couldn't face the consequences of his own actions but chose to run away from them by taking his own life.

Wole soyinka created history. woke Soyinka became the first man to ride okada from ife to Benin republic.

When he heard that abacha saw his letters, He quickly collected a bike from some random person and rode the bike till he crossed the border, out of fear of abacha.

And the only offensive war was even led by Yoruba they are programmed to hate. They can't be successful unless they are backed by the Yorubas. Even their financial breakthrough must happen on Yoruba soil.

Nobody is even contesting that at various times, Bola Tinubu, Obasanjo and Ogundipe all 'legged' it out of the country rather than lose their lives

But they think that it was cowardly for Ojukwu to do the same after fighting for 3 years.
