According to the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbeshola, these "ultra modern fire service trucks" cost whooping N1.8 billion.

The truck actual name is TGM 18.280 fire fighter truck, and the price is €195,000 in VAN VLIET.

Even if CBN sold euros to you at € 1 = ₦ 439 ( which I don't think so), then each truck should cost you ₦85,605,000 and ten should cost ₦856,000,000

Say with the shipping and clearing of these trucks you should still spend a maximum of 95 million naira each!

In other words, Rauf have swallowed the remaining 900 million naira

Duty payment on each truck might be up to 20million bt they might even get waivers so this is still grand corruption.

Do you have good roads for the vehicles to travel on?
Would there be water available?
Does Nigeria's emergency phone number work?

There are a lot of things that make emergency services effective. Not just vehicles alone.

Having said that, I commend the governor for spending the money on good things, rather than embezzle it. Well done sir.

Lol... So you guys mean to tell me that one of those truck I'm seeing there is worth 180 million Nigeria currency, this government is the second worst thing to happen to Nigeria after the amalgamation of Nigeria by thief lordlurgard... Now get this very straight that truck your seeing they is not more than 12 million.... When

I disagree with you. Ordinary 2008 E350 mercedes i wanted to buy and ship to Naija is already about $10K. Now that is already 3.5M, i haven't shipped or payed clearing oh. Give or take another 1M, that is already 4.5 for a car 12 years old. Now, abusing and insulting the govt the way youre doing just shows hate and tribalisms What you will say and i will agree with you on is this, 1. We need at least 10 to 20 of these trucks in each LGA, why are we buying trucks when we can have Anamco, Innoson or Volt in KD produce these trucks locally and we use all that money in uplifting our people? We have useless leaders across all ethnic, religious, cultural, state lines in Nigeria, period.

Rauf Omo Ole!
Nothing surprises me anymore in Nigeria, especially with the brazen corruption and thievery everyday.
Worst of it all is how they rub our noses and face in it.
They know we cant do anything.

The bloody fool looted andbankrupted Osun State, left there after installing a stooge/placeholder, then got rewarded with a ministerial appointment.... The reward for failure and incompetence in Nigeria is bigger opportunities or appointments.

He is there to clean up whilst he prepares for his next home come 2023.

It shall not be well with APC, PDP and all of their supporters.

Gbogbo yin, eni kuuure.

Does it mean that INNOSON no longer have fire fighter trucks or you want to take your cut?

When the criminal budgeted 1.8 billion for just ten firefighting trucks. He knows that going to Innoson may not cost more than 800 million naira and there is no way he could pocket the remaining 1 billion naira without it getting exposed somehow. So he went abroad to buy so he can conveniently embezzle 60% of the money.

These are the criminals that have borrowed billions of dollars that would take generations to pay back.

Rubbish!!

It saddens me to see such wastefulness and double saddening for me to say that we at least got some value.

Reminds me of an old joke I read somewhere.

Not verbatim. A Nigerian politician went to china to visit a Chinese politician. In awe the Nigerian politician asked the Chinese person how he got his wealth. The Chinese man pointed to a freeway outside and asked if the Nigerian guy can see the beautiful 6 lane freeway. Nigerian said he only saw four lanes. Bingo.

So later the Chinese visited the Nigerian politician in Nigeria and was also in awe and asked how he got his wealth. The Nigerian pointed outside and asked the Chinese person if he can see the beautiful 8 lane freeway outside. The Chinese said he doesn’t see any freeway at all, just a dusty one lane road.
