The 2020 revised federal budget has been passed by the House of Representatives. However, the amount passed was N10.8 trillion as opposed to the initial N10.5 trillion submitted by the president.

The bill contained amendments that were supposed to reduce the federal budget from the initial #10.6 trillion to #10.5 trillion. The house, however, increased the budget to #10.8 trillion which was higher than the initial approved budget.

The presidency proposed a reduction based on the global economic realities. And as a result of the coronavirus pandemic along with the recent crisis in the oil market.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Mukhtar Betara, presented the committee report on the budget.
