Coren Introduces Annual Practising Licence by Hndholder(m): 12:18pm On Jun 12, 2007
The Council of COREN, at its meeting of 25th March, 2007, approved that as from January 2008, registered engineering
personnel would be issued with COREN Annual Practising Licence. This will be in the form of a certificate.
Engineering Consulting Firms will also be issued with Annual Practising Certificates.

The Council has directed further that the list of engineering personnel and consulting firms that have paid up their
Annual Practising fees be published in the National Dailies.

Furthermore, government organizations will be required to request for the Annual Practising Licence as a condition for
engaging engineering consultants.

It has been observed that many engineering personnel in the public service are indebted to COREN for a period of 3
years and above. The Council has directed that as from January, 2008, those owing up to 3 years will have their
registration suspended until such payment is made and the list published in major National Dailies. It will be
illegal for such officials to approve engineering designs and other engineering documents on behalf of their
organizations. Engineering Personnel are required to visit COREN Website to know their financial indebtedness and
settle same to avoid any embarrassment.

As stated earlier a list of consulting firms that have renewed their practising licences will be passed to all
government ministries and parastatals so that only those that have paid annual practising fees will be allowed to do
business with government.

All payments should be made to COREN Account No 6012005088 domiciled at Zenith Bank Plc. Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The depositor’s copy of the bank teller (s) should be submitted to the Zonal Officers or sent directly to COREN
Headquarters, along with the current postal address for the purposes of mailing the receipt to the depositor. The
purpose of payment should be clearly stated at any corner of the bank teller.
