The former CSO of late Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha, told BBC Hausa that Abacha never stole Nigeria's money. According to Al-Mustapha, Abacha and some Nigerian leaders took the decision to stash money in different foreign accounts. This was done so that Nigerians wouldn't suffer in the future.

Al-Mustapha said during the military dictator's regime, Nigeria was facing threats of sanctions. Therefore, General Sani Abacha, some other leaders, along with monarchs from the North and South, made a collective decision. They decided to keep a lot of money abroad to prevent Nigerians from suffering when the sanctions were eventually imposed.

He was surprised that people kept tying his boss to the recovered monies. He said his former boss did not have his signature or identity on the accounts where the money was stashed.

Al-Mustapha said his boss helped raise Nigeria's image yet he was criticized by every Tom, Dick, and Harry.

If not Nigeria is not a sh!thole, why is someone like Hamza Al-Mustapha not in prison with both hands and legs chained For him to have this effrontery to be saying this rubbish after all the evils he committed shows Nigeria is just a well fenced zoo.
