when he was made governor didn't they see this flaw till now? lol they don't even care if he is performing or not.

party interest comes first. makes me really wonder what politics in Nigeria is really about, what exactly do they seek for, what common goals do they share. won't be surprised if pdp opens her arms to him.

e b things for this country cry

Maybe they did not.. Just like in Bayelsa. So after the Bayelsa case study the have decided to be more vigilant.. What about that? Well let pdp make him their gubernatorial candidate no one is stopping them you know... APC will be smiling @ that option.

Why are our leaders always having issues with their certificates. When we have renowned accademic doctors nd proffessors in various fields yet we keep bring touts of questionable accademic background to be at d helm of affairs,little wonder Nigeria is in shambles because we left competent hands to give mandates to tout nd visionless leaders.as for my view in edo state power tussle,if nt for anything let obaseki win the second term to atleast make the people of edo knw that power is truely in their hands nd not one outdated godfather,but if the allow that ape to have his way then they have succeeded in making oshiomole the tinubu of edo.and they will pay dearly for it.how come oshiomole didnt find all these faults in his first tenure. And how come ize iyamu has suddenly become a saint after leaving pdp where the same oshiomole accused him of several theft

He became a Saint exactly how Atiku became one in your eyes in 2019

Everything the committee accused Obaseki of, Oshiomole was also guilty of during his first and Second elections but nobody disqualified him. He had issues with his name, he had Adams Aliyu Oshiomole in some credentials and Adams Aliu Oshiomole in others. He also had issues with his academic qualifications, some claimed he was just a certificateless tailor without even a primary school leaving certificate! But he was never disqualified even though his party wasn't the ruling party at the federal level. He was given an opportunity to use the instrumentality of the courts to defend and clear himself. PMB also had same issues. He had "Mohammed" in some cases and "Muhammadu" in others. There were also doubts about his academic qualifications but he was never disqualified based on these. This is what Oshiomole is denying Obaseki now, justice. It is very obvious, he is acting a preplanned agenda. The battle line has been drawn, we can only watch and see and enjoy ourselves with the movies that are about to play out and it won't be funny on the APC if they don't give equal opportunity to all aspirants , I can assure u that.
I knew this injustice was going to be a season film since it was played on the Ex-Governor Ambode of Lagos State and no member of comity of APC governors stood vehemently against it, forgetting that an injustice to one is an injustice to all. Let's keep our eyes gazed at the screen as the events unfold. Happy viewing!!!

1. Claiming to have a Higher School Leaving Certificate which is unknown to the Nigerian educational system;

maybe a case of semantics as he write am on the application form

2. Allegedly being in possession of an affidavit disowned by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory;
wetin be this one ooo?

[3. Error in the National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate which bears Obasek as against Obaseki;
a typewriter error. na typewriter dey use then to type all these certificates

4. Loss of primary, secondary and the Higher School Leaving Certificates;
wetin be dis one oo?

5. Alleged violation of Article 21 D (V) of the party’s constitution, which forbids members from taking the party to court;
a court can smash this one easier. constitutional right

6. Legal precedents occasioned by the judgments of the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court on discrepancies in names.
but he has been a governor for 4 years. they are only finding out now??

Antoeni:
Six reasons APC disqualified Obaseki

1. Claiming to have a Higher School Leaving Certificate which is unknown to the Nigerian educational system;

2. Allegedly being in possession of an affidavit disowned by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory;

3. Error in the National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate which bears Obasek as against Obaseki;

4. Loss of primary, secondary and the Higher School Leaving Certificates;

5. Alleged violation of Article 21 D (V) of the party’s constitution, which forbids members from taking the party to court;

Forget about oshiomole for a minute and ask if Obaseki is a fool.. So after issues with oshiomole this is the kind of qualification he could present.? It shows he is not a serious person.. Moreover you are saying Oshiomole shouldn't have his way that is fine and good.. So at what point or what exactly makes Obaseki a Saint too? Is he not also a normal Nigerian politician? Which me and you know that they are all the same.. My dear let it play out anyhow it like.. Better go and use more important things to occupy yourself.. The stress is not worth it.

Let me remind y'all who were leading Obaseki on. This is the end of Obaseki politically.
Politics in nigeria is a very dirty game and you must be willing to play ball.
Obaseki no doubt was a technocrat and at the same time a political neophyte. Obaseki was brought into the APC by Oshiomhole himself, planted inside the APC and given governorship on a platter against every wish of the APC. All these even to spite Ize-Iyamu. Obaseki from day one already lost every moral right to claim sainthood and the good guy no matter what he claims to be fighting for.

When Obaseki became governor, the next thing was to lump his fight with percieved power brokers and tax reforms together. Demolishing his oponents properties was to achieve what exactly? Then he refused inaugurating some house of assembly members too claiming they were not lyal? who is Obaseki again? A nobody! When APC started out as AC and then ACN, Obaseki was nowhere but these people he is fighting were the ones who built the party in the state. How dumb can he be? Did he think nairalanders and social media will make him win anything? Haba mana!

Mr Obaseki again went about rubbishing Oshiomhole when he saw the handwriting on the wall that Mr Ugly won't back him for a second term. If you have so performed, you won't bother so much about a secong term. Mr Ugly is even appearing to be a better performer than Obaseki with the look of things. You say you expelled the man who brought you in from a party he laboured to build? Obaseki is a grand FOOL and those who led him on cannot deliver him from his political suicide. Every other party will be cautious when dealing with him which he doesn't know. PDP will milk every kobo from him which he has made as governor under APC and when he loses, APC will get their pound of flesh from him. In politics, loyalty is everything. You can disagree with your leaders but never ever try to rubbish them or bring down the roof of the same building that housed you.

Bros said he has expelled a national chairman from his party and clowns were clapping for him. These same clowns which were secretly working for Mr. Ugly but Obaseki didn't as much as know it. Your eye go neat soon. Oshimole is not even the main problem of Obaseki, there are many players behind the scene who have declared war on Obaseki, Edo people should know this. For Oshiomole to pick the same Ize-Iyamu which he openly condemmned, then it should tell you how desperate this battle is. Shebi Obaseki is clean? let him prepare o because even if it is 1 naira he misappropriated, he is going to sweat! He shouls ask Ambode. Ambode was a performing governor whose wife brought him down both spiritually and physically, today Ambode escaped due to him being a french & swiss citizen amongst other citizenships which he bought before he left office.

If you don't habe clout to fight political fathers, don't even start a war with them. If you do, nothing will save you. However you can disagree with them and balance things out. You can still perform very well as a governor and leave quietly. Second term is not by force. One term is what it takes for a truly patriotic politician to perform while in office, just 1 term!

Obaseki should hurry now and pull every string he can to reconcile and beg for soft landing from the very national body which he said he had expelled. cheesy cheesy cheesy

WATCHOVER:
That's life, but I think APC has got it all wrong this time, even Ize-Iyamu is not free from disqualification too.

All the candidates all have issues, as times roll by Ize-Iyamu's own will come out, and that will be the end of APC, because already The committee has also found some errors on Odubu's own, though trying to turn a blind eye to it as a way of compensation for the money he wasted on the previous primary. For me the committee ended up destroying the images of Engr. Chris and Pius Odubu for life.
Let's see how it plays out it will end up in courts, as this will be a field day for Judiciary, and who knows led to the Burial of APC concerning this year's elections.
APC will win Edo with over 100,000 votes go write it down.

you have point, that's another way to look at it. but all this drama started when he had issues with UNCLE oshiomole. i mean during the buhari certificate saga they said Muhammadu is same with mohammad(his waec results). i assume he has messed with the wrong hands else they will still cover it up and nothing will happen as usual. well for pdp it is 50/50 the certificate card has already been played by apc should they decide to back him.

His problem is not similarity in name.. It will be foolish for one to see Ebele and Ebere and not reconcile the names just like in buhari case.. His own seems to me that the chairman know that he is not qualified. Having been an APC person and campaigned for him earlier.. Which is probably why Obaseki himself is not appealing or going to court.. Cos seems he knows its true.. I think he just wants to contest because he got away with it the 1st time. So he believes it will happen again but I think the court is now more strict on result following Bayelsa ruling

bayelsa court ruling was a shocker to many. APC has played a fast one on him already, it is very unlikely he gets away with this, from what happened when ambode tried to go against the party. obaseki doesn't have much options left. i am eager to see what move he makes next and how it will all play out.
what do you think his next line of action should be?

Maybe go to this AAC party or so.. If he wants to contest but he should know he might still lose it in court if he wins.. He has the option of going to pdp but the problem with that is pdp is a big party like APC and has already loyal members who if u dump them just take him as flag bearer will cause commotion in the party and also it will have already hand APC option B even before Goin to the polls.. Which is nota good one..

Because it did not happen yesterday doesn't mean it won't happen today. Politics and democracy are evolving every day .
Politicians are always looking for ways of getting an edge over the other person. That's politics.
APC wouldn't want what happened in zamfara and Bayesa states to happen again. And if it does then they have not learnt any lesson.
Politics is a game.

oz4real83:

This is why you should support and campaign for the PDP in the forthcoming Edo State Gubernatorial election.

AroleOduduwa2:
Their reasons are very hollow, but this is Nigeria, a sitting governor get bullied because he didn’t follow his god father/ party leader directive.

How can Nigeria move forward as a country when the president and governor answers to people who give them directive, people who tell them what to do and what not to do, people who expect half of the allocation and internal generated revenue.

The most idiotic part is the hypocrisy of the people supporting this oligarchy and on the other hand want good governance, make you wonder what they really want.

Election is a test of popularity.

Gov Obaseki should try his popularity on a neutral platform.

The idea that Oshiomole's candidate should NOT win is not democratic also.

A candidate whose only unique point is that 'he is opposed to Oshiomole' is also a bad choice.

Let the BEST candidate win, it doesn't matter if the candidate is that of PDP, SDP, APC or Labour party.

Tinubu also had the university certificate issue. I don't think it has been resolved till now: University of Chicago Vs Chicago State University bla bla bla.
Why he did: he dropped the use of any university degree and presented his O level.

Obaseki can drop all degree stuff and NYSC, with some detailed to sort things out in the mean time, and use his O level for election if the constitution is still supporting minimum of school certificate attendance.

Obaseki had meeting with PDP today and all the south south governors are coming to Benin tomorrow for his official decamping to PDP. Let's see how Tunibu and Oshomole can stand all the PDP God fathers and the south south governors power of incumbency.

APC has lost Edo state and before the end of the year Oshimole would be shown the exit door from APC

. I reliably gathered that he used affidavit in his first time.I am not an Edolite but it appears he is taking thing for granted. Same happened to Adeleke in Osun.It is better to have certificates you don't need than not having certificates that are necessary.He even said days before the screening that he would not scale through it.After the screening he said he would not appeal. What does that imply? Why can't he address the press and present his certificates? Obaseki played into the hand of APC.I hereby hold him responsible for his downfall.I wish Edo people goodluvk in their choice of governor.
I can see you're in support of the Midget

that should have been the duty of the party or screening committee. The purpose of screening aspirants is to rectify any issues before it gets to the public or before the election. Under normal circumstances, the party should have told Obaseki to go and correct his name or if possible submit only waec certificate as a fulfilment of the constitution and leave out any higher qualification. PMB submitted only an affidavit as evidence. He had other military qualifications which he didn't add to avoid stories that touch. These are pre-election matters that every party should be able to correct but the party thought otherwise.
Very correct
