If you go to some part of Lagos you won't believe there is any pandemic, people living normal lives no mask, no social distance, nothing at all.
When you move to the island you will be shocked becos people are wearing mask even in their cars alone inside AC. They are very careful and afraid.
I don't know why it's always one sided.
If u look at d rate of people infected and dying in America you will see dt its d black community yet na d blacks dey street dey protest inside corona.

Awareness & economic situation are key.

More Islanders have access to information and have more money to afford PPE. For many in poorer areas, N300 for face mask is something. Less educated people tend to dismiss scientific advise. They will claim "Corona doesn't affect African man" or "common chloroquine or agbo will cure it sharp sharp". grin cheesy

The more well-off tend to separate from mistrust of authorities from actions beneficial to self. While the less well off allow mistrust of authorities to let them largely govt advise that would be beneficial to them. Unless some form of penalty is attached.

In America, on the average blacks roughly equate to many less well-off Lagos mainlanders. Though not exactly.

Funny...US is currently experiencing a 2nd wave and considering the incubation period of COVID-19 you should expect more rise in infection in the coming week. Try to check the stats to avoid misleading information.
I have been following you replies to people comment here, ITK, US is not experiencing a second wave of coronavirus, atleast not now.

What you hear Dr Anthony Fauci saying about a second wave is to caution states who were losing their guard on the virus.

Atleast even Dr Fauci made it clear that the rasing cases in some states is not a second wave.

We keep on having inconsistent figures everyday, such that if statisticians are to plot the graph, it will be be a zig - zag scattered diagram.

Nigerians don't care anymore. Visit markets, banks, commercial buses, taxis and other public places in our cities, you will be in SHOCK.

NCDC also doing everything possible to achieve their predictions that Nigeria will record up to 100,000 cases by August ending.

That's because:

1. We are not cooperating
2. We are not consistent in testing
3. Inadequate contact tracing.

Note: Statisticians draw inferences after all graphs. Hence, they will tell you the reasons for the abnormal shapes.

Do you understand Sir?

Happy Sunday.

d credibility of pcr testing device is a big problem in nigeria. d limit of detection(LOD) 4 pcr test tell u d minimum amount of RNA that d test will detect 95 out of 100 times. if d lod 4 a test is too high, patient who are infected with SARS-COV-2 may not test positive, leading 2 high rate of false negative results. if d lod 4 d test is too low, then contamination can b a problem, as d test will detect any tiniest amounts of viral RNA, leading 2 false positive test results

So they are trying to increase the daily count gradually.... From 200-300, now to 500-600 in the past few days.

Something is wrong somewhere.... They want to keep embezzling. I believe these people just made up figures to scare us. We can't continue like this, we have to learn and live with this.

4 months since the first case, 500 people have died (I'm sure not all is COVID19 related). In the same period, thousands have died in the hand of bandits and terrorists.

I'm not surprised the numbers are increasing, the testing capacity has increased so more cases so be known, but I believe we'll pass through this as many establishments have put intervention plans in place.
